Location was good, pool was great for my granddaughter! Sheets were a little worn and had an off white colour as well as the towels in room and at the pool. At some point during the night odour of skunk thru out the room, some people checked in on the same floor was really bad! They had been sprayed, opened the door and the whole floor smelled , commented to the staff and they didn’t seem to care! Gave me a headache and eyes burning!

The property was nicely rennovated and the room was very comfortable. Staff were hit and miss for for friendliness and accessibility. The continental breakfast was not as nice as other Monte Carlo Inns, instant oats instead of a crockpot of real oatmeal, limited toppings, fruit salad was going bad. Staff were not present when breakfast opened at 7:00. When I asked someone in the kitchen well after 7:00 for hot water for oatmeal the person acted like I was a nuisance. The clientele was curious too. While I felt safe in my room, I didn't in the parking lot or sometimes in the hallway. I rarely leave reviews that aren't positive. However I feel this is an important experience to share.

Friendly staff, convenient parking, good room. Beside Highway 400 so noisy, however pulling blind down stopped most noise. Breakfast provided was minimal continental style.

The room was very clean and quiet . The only reasons we did not give 5 stars are : pillows - too hard and no selection or options . Ice machines - no ice and none were working . Water pressure in the shower was very low .

After a game of golf or a hike around waterfront, a soak in the suite's spa tub is the perfect ending to the day! Highly recommend the suite. Overall, recommended!!

They didn’t receive our booking from Expedia . Booked thru Expedia , Expedia took our money right away and got confirmation of our stay , then arrive at the hotel to be informed that we’re not in the system and they didn’t have a room under my name in the system . Showed them the confirmation emails from Expedia and they tell me that they never received the booking from Expedia . Booked a luxury king suite with a jacuzzi tub in it and got downgraded to a regular room that they had available with no money refunded or any added compensation . First room smelled of urine so we got transferred to another regular room that smelled slightly less of urine . What an amazing anniversary weekend . Thanks Expedia and Monte Carlo Inn for taking my money and not reserving me a room ! Awesome experience . Excellent service !

Probably a great hotel... in 1990.

Great size for a suite, jacuzzi in the room is a must and the king size bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the room was not very clean, lots of hair in the bed and in the bathroom. The worst part was that the shower drain was clogged, so the bathtub was filling up. Not great to take a shower with our feet in 10-12" of water. TV is way too small and way too far from the bed. Soundproofing isn't great, hearing everything in the hallways and the highway close by. You can tell that this hotel use to be a great option... 20-25 years ago. The elevator gave me goosebumps, it feels like its gonna drop at any given moment. The breakfast is far too limited, even for a continental option, with only plain cereal, a few bakeries and yogurt. Overall, decent place, but the jacuzzi sweet was not worth the 800$ for 3 nights. Will try a different hotel on my next stay in Barrie

My room was someth less than clean but not filthy. Limited dining. I paid to upgrade my "free" breakfast and got ice cold potatoes and eggs and they didn't even have any sausage. Staff offered the minimum in terms of service. Definitely nobody going out of their way to help anyone. I was there 2 nights to attend a family wedding nearby. If I had been on vacation, I'd have been upset.
