Hotel was perfectly situated for sightseeing. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. We had complimentary cava each and taxi to the airport, which was unexpected but really appreciated. Rooms were comfortable. Would definitely recommend

The ever remodeling hotel...
The hotel location is one of the best,in front of the Barcelona Cathedral in the gothic quarter. Rooftop is chic and has amazing views. The problem is that the hotel has been in renovation works for more than 3 years. We have stay the last 3 years , always sam dates and the problem is the same: work starts as early as 9 am, when steps from the workmen is heard around the floors. At 10 am, the heavy, loud equiptment start and you have to leave the hotel. Its ok if you wake up early but if you desaire some morning rest is almost impossible and annoying. Even when you are warned at the check in, you never imagine the extend of this inconvenience.

Pros: - Good, central location - Nicely renovated Cons: - No hot water - Thin walls and constant thumping noises - Poor checkin experience (reservation said 2 pm, the front desk told me it was "2 to 4") - Queen bed was 2 singles pushed together without a mattress topper, leaving an uncomfortable gap between the beds Would not stay again.

I loved Hotel Colon. It was in the middle of everything. The hotel is modern with an old world feel. The staff were all gracious and accommodating. Definitely will stay here again.

Excellent overall experience at this property. Their rooms are all beautiful and have amazing views, particularly the terrace views. Staff was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this hotel.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!
THIS HOTEL IS A BUILDING SITE. 2 FLOORS UNDER RENOVATION. WORK WILL GO ON THROUGH 2024 with this and other renovations in the basement. LOTS OF SERIOUS NOISE, SOUNDS LIKE PNEUMATIC DRILLING FOR MANY HOURS. OUR WALLS WERE VIBRATING. -- NO WARNING PRIOR TO BOOKING OR ON ARRIVAL ABOUT THE BUILDING WORK. -- HOTELS.COM contacted the hotel and the hotel replied that they would sort it. NOTHING WAS DONE. MANAGER CONSISTANTLY NOT AVAILABLE DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS. To add to the misery only one tiny lift is working and as we were on the 5th floor, a long wait time. This is exacerbated as they open the roof top bar to the general public in the evenings. The second lift will not be back in use for months we were advised. On our first day there was no water to our room. If this hotel were honest about what is going on, it would be empty. This manager has placed his good staff in an impossible position handling the many complaints.
