Easy access to the room without any big drama even though I arrived late at night. Shared kitchen facilities were excellent and food topped up as it was used. Quiet area with a spectacular view in the mornings.

Arrived at the room, the room was not as advertised, two single beds pushed together and advertised as king bed My partner 7 months pregnant noticed bugs and dirt throughout the bed. Bugs flying around shower and basin drains. Spider webs all over the room. Property not prepared for customers at all. The description of the property also needs updating as it provides a misrepresentation of the accommodation provided. We have instantly decided to book elsewhere and have requested a full refund

Sorry to hear that, but a very emotional response, "spider webs all over the room", I can say for sure that was not the case, maybe a more balanced opinion might be taken seriously as we take our business very serious. cheers john & helen

The property is in a beautiful position and the house itself is of very high quality. The provisions provided were generous. However .. the wrong address was given .. and I had to appeal to neighbours to find help! Additionally I had NO idea it was a shared situation.. having organised on line the night before, and leaving early in the morning for the 800 km drive.. the email was never accessed by me. Fortunately my shared tenants were lovely but they also had similar problems as I did. Also .. who expects to be enforced to leave at 0930 hrs in the morning!!!!!! These disappointing issues took the edge off what could have been a hugely delightful stay with much organisation on behalf of the owners noted. Lastly .. the “Pantry Room” should be reserved for young children I feel.

Sorry Anonymous, just renovated this room, now have photos, small but still has all the facilities that other rooms have access to, but much cheaper & with private bathroom.

Pros: Very Little
Cons: Lots - including lowering the price. Not worth the money
1.Didn't realise we would have to share a house with a bunch of other people. 2. When we checked in we found that the operator had already debited my credit card for 100% of the charge despite being told in writing that a no-show incurred a 50% fee. I suspect this action is illegal. 3. No chairs in room. 4. Bed mattress edge had collapsed - possibly due to people sitting on it because of lack of chairs. 5. Small room. Miniscule TV 6. Had to dodge around construction materials to get in and out 7. Noisy construction work commenced early

Sorry you feel this way Don. We advertise the Retreat as private rooms with shared kitchen, lounge etc with 2 other bookings. You arrived & stayed, what is the "no show" about, we debited your card 100%, on the day you arrived. You have chairs outside your room on the deck with magnificent 180 deg views, maybe you should have opened the doors. The mattress has not collapsed. The TV's are average size and a huge TV in the lounge area. No dodging but we're renovating and adding to make our property better, come again and see for yourself. Builders were told not to start before 8am & no noisy work until 9am. Lots of good things to talk about Don. cheers john & helen

Deck is the best aspect

Pros: View Kitchen well set up
Unfortunately there is no soundproofing for the rooms so with other people staying you hope they go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time. Builders were working on an extension which was not advised at booking. They arrived at 7.30am however left at 4.30pm. Continental breakfast was very basic - some yoghurt and fruit would have been nice and expected for price paid. Some repairs in the room we were in were needed. Broken clock, vanity door sticking, blind, soap dispenser, towel rail. Little things but important if you want people to come back. Access road needs to be graded - you would have to be careful with low wheelbased car.

Sorry anonymous, things happen and we try to do our best. Sorry you weren't happy, however a lot of things must have been excellent thanks for staying. The builders are improving facilities which I'm sure is what you want.

Fabulous Rainforest Retreat

Our stay far exceeded our expectations. The house is so beautifully decorated and well appointed with so many tasteful touches. We loved the serenity of the house where we could hear so many lovely birds in the surrounding trees. We enjoyed having some meals in the house thanks to the gorgeous kitchen. The house is very close to Cow Bay Beach (about 5 minute drive) which is really lovely and secluded. The proximity to Cape Tribulation was also very nice as it afforded the opportunity to really explore the Daintree without excessive driving. Tina was absolutely wonderful and provided us with a lot of great recommendations on gluten free restaurants like Whet and the Heritage Lodge where we had fabulous meals. At night it was great to relax in the living room with the hard drive loaded with great movies. This made for some really fun family time watching movies together as a family. We would definitely return to the Summit Rainforest Retreat!

Thank you Kiara for your feedback, we can certainly look at the fridge situation, the xmas/new year period is certainly unique in terms of the amount of food/drink that we all need to keep cold. cheers.
