This is the cutest old fashion motor hotel I've seen in years. They have restored it to its glory days of the 1960s. It is cute, clean, and smells nice. The staff is wonderful. And the food next door at Pig n Pancake is fab.

The 1950's theme was originally well-executed, but has obvioulsy not been refreshed since inception and is showing its age. New paint and surface repairs are due. Room lighting is inadequate. Rooms have no air conditioning and no telephones. Walls are thin and there is no setback from the main street, so both traffic noise and noise from other guests is loud. Bathtub and walls were dirty. All window screens were loose and had gaps. On the plus side, desk staff and housekeepers were efficient and friendly. Bed was comfortable. Refrigerator, coffee-maker and microwave all worked well, although the refrigerator's freezer unit needed defrosting.

There was good and bad. The place was redone in a retro theme, which was cute. But the bathroom floor needed to be redone, there were holes developing in the vinyl and they made the place look dirty and seedy. The bathroom paint job was the worst. A LOT of wall paint on the trim and ceiling. They never bothered to fix it. The first desk person we met was useless and not friendly. But the next two we met were super friendly and helpful.

We called and asked about pets, They said 2 dogs were welcome, no mention of additional fees. I reserved, paid for the room noting the 2 dogs. When we arrived we were hit with a $136.56 pet fee, on top of a $590.42 charge for 2 nights. $726.98 for a cute outdated small room with no AC, mold in the shower, chipped porcelain in the tub, and spackled walls in the bathroom. Aside from that, it was a nice place, pretty clean, quiet, and comfortable stay.

Decent place to stay

It’s a cute little motel with some character. The front desk person was nice the day we checked in (not so much the lady the next day). Also wasn’t the cleanest and the bed was a little wonky, but it was fine for one night. I will say the walls and floors seem quite thin, so be prepared to wear earplugs if you are sensitive like me. The Keurig machine and free breakfast were nice touches.

Hoping just flee bites

I stayed on the second floor in 221. It seemed clean but I woke up covered in bites. I’m really hoping it was just flee bites instead of the other horrible alternative. Just in case I had to put everything I brought to the motel into plastic bags and straight to the laundry mat. Never had so many bug bites before!
