Art Series – The Johnson
One of Brisbane’s newest stays, this stylish modern hotel takes its name and inspiration from Australian abstract artist Michael Johnson, and is designed with an aesthete’s eye in mind (which is just a fancy way of saying it looks gorgeous). Check out the tempting rooftop pool, in-house art library, and dedicated art channel. For a serious splurge, treat yourself to a 3-bedroom penthouse with 360-degree view – WOW.
The New Inchcolm Hotel Brisbane MGallery by Sofitel
The New Inchcolm Hotel is so pretty it’ll make your heart hurt. Its elegant art-deco design gives it an old-world charm, while its Wickham Terrace location means it’s close to the action. But withThomson’s Reserve Restaurant’sindulgent menu (including a five-course tasting menu) and Socialites Bar’s jazzy ‘20s vibes both on site, we wouldn’t blame you if you stayed close to home.
Emporium Hotel
Boutique luxury in the heart of Fortitude Valley? Yes, please! Spend the day shopping and cafe hopping, then cool off with a dip in the sparkling rooftop lap pool. In the evening, check out the local night life – the Valley is (in)famous for its live music – or stay in and make the most of your luxurious Molton Brown toiletries. If your tummy’s rumbling, try the on-site patisserie, yummy Emporium High Tea, and awesome 24/7 room service.

The Point Brisbane Hotel
Who could resist a stylish modern stay in scenic Kangaroo Point? Not us, and probably not you if you take a peep at The Point Brisbane Hotel. Check out the Eagles Nest rooftop bar for a Sunday sesh with a view, or stay virtuous with a workout at the on-site gym. Guests can also enjoy complimentary wi-fi in common areas, an on-site laundry, and free shuttle services to the CBD every weekday morning. Score!
Swiss-Belhotel Brisbane
Just a 15-minute stroll from the Brissie Convention & Exhibition Centre and the Gabba, the brand-new Swiss-Belhotel Brisbane offers a dream location and serious bang for your buck. The spacious rooms are perfect for families and longer stays – especially the Deluxe and Swiss-Super Suites, which come with full kitchens. Bring your laptop to make the most of the free in-room wi-fi (woohoo!).
Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street
One of Brissie’s top-rated hotels, the fun and stylish Ibis Styles Brisbane offers unbeatable value smack dab in the CBD. We’d recommend it for the art alone (so many rainbows…), but its $5 happy hour (4-6pm daily) and $12 cocktails make it a serious winner. Ibis Styles is also perfect for retail therapy, with the Myer Centre and Queen Street Mall just a two-minute stroll away. Not that we’re encouraging you… 😉

George Williams Hotel Brisbane
Want a comfy and convenient Brissie stay for a bargain price? Then you can’t go past the George Williams Hotel. Its George Street location is perfect for all your business and shopping needs, plus it’s an easy walk to both Central Station and the North Quay CityCat terminal (CityCats being Brisbane ferries and not cool urban kitties – unfortunately). All rooms come with free in-room internet.
Soho Brisbane
Look up the words “great value” in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of the Soho Brisbane. Well, not literally – that would be weird. But with its awesome location, cosy rooms, and cool, old-school bar, the Soho ticks all the boxes for a bargain Brissie stay. Limited on-site parking is available, but with Soho’s own shuttle service and buses at its doorstep, we vote to leave the car at home.
Riverside Hotel Southbank
Just a quick stroll from QAG, GOMA, the State Library of Queensland, QPAC, and the Collective Markets, the Riverside Hotel Southbank is perfectly located for South Bank fun. Its spacious rooms make it a top pick for families, and the on-site restaurant (with yummy kids’ meals) is an easy option for family dinners. There’s also an on-site laundry, in case those family dinners turn messy.
