Booking was easy,however a previous experience where wotif booked us into accommodation – then hotel rang to say they were sorry but they were fully booked – we lost our money.it was never refunded . Hopefully we are safe this time.

I booked a hotel on Friday for the wrong Friday, cancelled that one and booked another for the correct (same) Friday. My mistake for not looking at the default days, but why does Wotif take my money for the booking immediately, but when I cancel it does not return my money immediately nor indicate when I can expect to get it back?

I was quite shocked to find that my reservation of a hotel for my parents for mid October had been immediately debited from my visa card in full on the day I booked, on 22 August, rather than just a deposit.
At no stage was there a warning that this would happen.
I won’t be using wotif again.
