Accommodation In Xiamen

Located in China's Fujian Province, Xiamen is a charming coastal city that is full of energy and life. Visitors can enjoy the modern atmosphere combined with a sense of history and lots of attractions to suit all interests. The city is split over islands and the mainland, so there are plenty of different views to admire. The airport is close to the heart of the city, and getting between the airport and downtown is really easy. We have an excellent choice of Xiamen accommodation in various parts of the city, so have a quick look and start planning your stay.

Art and culture

History buffs will enjoy visiting Hulishan Fortress with its different architectural styles and lovely fountain. There are lots of lovely colonial buildings on the pretty island of Gulangyu and plenty of traditional buildings at the Xiamen University campus. For a spot of local culture, head to the splendid and large Nanputuo Temple and admire its numerous Buddha statues. Behind the temple you can climb the mountain, where you will see even more small Buddha images inside little gaps. The views from the top are excellent. Lam Soon Crocodile Farm is popular with people of all ages, enjoyed by visitors and locals alike.

For some fun in the great outdoors, you can spend time at the sparkling Yundang Lake, at the beautiful Jiageng Park, and in the nice Bailuzhou Park. Take a stroll through Music Square to see various sculptures and great views. Xiamen is one of the top spots in the whole of china for exciting kite surfing. There are great shopping opportunities both at day and in the evening, and a walk around the colourful and lively markets shows a different side of the city. There are lots of places to enjoy a great meal, and you should try some of the local specialities, which include Xiamen wonton soup, Xiamen glass noodles, peanut soup, crab porridge, and oyster omelette. Take a break in one of the quaint tea houses and rest like a local. The city has an active and fun nightlife, with pubs, bars, discos, and clubs all found in the city.
