Property and surrounding area is stunning. Food was just ok. Rooms and hallways really need a good scrubbing and updating. Carpet is old and dingy. Doors to rooms are chipped and need repainting as well as the walls. Entire building is very dimly lit, which is fine but when you are in your room trying to get ready, the bathroom light needs to be much brighter. All the floors are very uneven. Nothing is level so if you put anything on a table or counter it rolls off. All in all, it’s ok. The spa was amazing!!!

The Mountainview Spa and Resort grounds are beautifully maintained. From the breathtaking views to the Adirondack chairs and fall mums of the covered porch, it is a memorable experience. I would give it a 5 star review, but the king size bed's mattress was a huge let down. It had a 24 X 24 circular cut out with no stuffing on the right side of the bed. I have noticed this issue at other mountain resorts, where mattress comfort seems to be an afterthought.

We had a fantastic stay. The staff are amazing, we used the pool and gym which only few guests seemed to take advantage of. It was also a pleasure to sit on the patio and look outside. Room above average size.

The staff at the bar that was there were excellent. It seems like it was off season and they needed more help. A tray from the room next door stayed on the floor in the hall for 2 days before I asked them to take it away. Made window seat reservations at the Harvest Tavern and when I got there - no window seat was available. I waited on the phone for 15 minutes to make the reservation from home. There were only a couple of waitresses so ate at the bar instead. The view from the Grand Queen Room was spectacular!! Front desk staff were great!!! Wine Cellar’s menu is very limited for $99.00 per person. I ended up canceling the reservation because of no beef option. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel. The restaurant and bar just need more help.

Parking was far from door when busy but bell person helped us. Excellent menu for dinner but breakfast was only a buffet and coffee area inside the gift shop was not open when we left. Older bathrooms but nice. Needs more bedside tables.

The hotel does have a lot of charm and potential. There were numerous areas that needed maintenance and a good sweep. The view from the very large porch is beautiful however there were dirty dishes and towels and food that needed to be cleaned up in a timely manner. Same for the pool area and game room.

Pricey but not overpriced. Historic but not geriatric. Beautiful, well-kept property that makes for a pleasant getaway. I suspect there was some short staffing issues, but nothing that upset our trip. Our expert bartender knew how to mix a very nice Hugo Spritz, most likely an unusual order in that area. It was greatly appreciated.
