Wanrong Holiday Packages

As we looked for the hotel entrance, "hidden" in a maze of shabby and not very clean passages, my heart was sinking. But when the elevator opened its doors on the top floor, I gasped in delight. Less than a year open, the hotel is a pleasant surprise. Absolutely clean and stylishly furbished, the small but comfortable rooms are furnished in a somewhat Japanese minimalist but utterly pleasing style. My peaks into other rooms suggest that each is different, ours had a large comfortable platform bed (forget about chairs) and a spacious bathroom with a futuristic bathtub, both separated by a glass wall, no window. Hotel lobby sports a coffee machine, a few computers with free wifi (available also in rooms but we did not test it) and staff even let us use their washer and dryer for free. They were extremely helpful, let us store our luggage a few days before we checked in, texted us about the after-earthquake situation with high-speed train and went out of their way. Most of them do not speak English, so have patience. The hotel does not have business cards yet and the building still shows its old name 'Fun Hotel" so it was challenging to find it. We took a business card from the adjacent hotel to show to taxi drivers. The location is fantastic, a few steps from the metro station and right behind the Ximen entertainment district. Easy to walk around and I found it safe even at night. There is a dancing club above so sleeping during day may be a problem but they close before 10pm
