Overall the property and stay were fine for me. I noticed that the staff, while attentive if you needed them to be, were a bit gossip-y with one another, and one seemed to be working on resolving an issue with a pet adoption during their work hours which I found to be unprofessional and irritating to have to overhear while eating in the dining room. Otherwise, the stay was fine.

My husband stays at the Red Roof Inn when travelling for business. The front desk staff always accommodates his request for a ground floor room. Room amenities are great, never an issue with the bed or heat in room. He even goes to breakfast there rather than a diner so no complaints at all.

I didn't stay. I knew I probably shouldn't have selected a Red Roof. The parking lot wasn't maintained, ice and snow throughout. The room was dated and had a musty type odor.

Winter weather was out in full force so I opted to turn in early and get off the road. Travel today was better only because it was done in daylight. @redroofinn in Herkimer was a pleasant surprise! Clean, modern and comfortable ❤️ and a Denny’s too!

It’s very clean with such friendly staff and an amazing array of foods for breakfast!!! I will stay again! The only thing I would say is that the bed had a metal frame and was noisy if you moved!! All in all it was a pleasant stay.

All was good. Second time I stayed here for a night. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Only suggested improvement would be to provide a plate, cup, glass, silverware (even plastic) in room since there’s a microwave and fridge which are much appreciated. Otherwise would recommend for a quick stay over.

Poor, but only choice in Herkimer.

Dated and worn room. Room door did not seal, let frigid air (January) pour in. Heater had to run continuously all night just to keep room barely at 64. Had to sleep with a down vest on. Desk person at check in was friendly, professional and helpful, desk person in the morning, not so much, she called me at exactly 11:01 am. as I was walking out the door, to curtly "remind" me that check-out was at 11:00 am. Sadly this is the best hotel in Herkimer... next time I'll drive the extra 30 minutes to stay elsewhere... anywhere but here.

Warm and comfortable port in a storm

The staff are outstanding!! Very friendly and efficient! The lobby was especially warm and inviting with the fire and holiday decorations. The free coffee, etc was a very nice touch! Breakfast room was spotless and the offerings were ample! Fresh fruit, many cereal and bread options, boiled eggs, yogurt. We arrived during a snowstorm, and our room was cold, so we needed the heat on full blast for the entire stay.

Not to far off the thru way… easy to get back on… decorated beautifully for Christmas… breakfast was decent…. Only issue is the beds have a tin sound to the base so when you get in or out they make a sound…. Not a big problem… would definitely stay again
