Great place to stay near Bassenthwaite

Nice hotel, we have stayed with the ICG previously and enjoyed it. This hotel was equally pleasant. Nice room and good breakfast. We were able to get some nice walks in from the doorstep, which is always good.

Lovely place to stay

This is a great place to stay with access to great fell walks right on the doorstep of the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. The only complaint we had was ordering food for dinner was chaotic... Long queues of around 20 minutes to order at a single till! A problem that could easily be solved if they offered table service.

The location was perfect, a very welcoming atmosphere in all areas, lots of banter with the staff who were all amazing. The breakfast was first class as were our evening meals. Beautiful outdoor area, grounds kept to a high standard. Looking forward to returning.

Lovely character

Characterful pub with rooms with dog friendly and dog free areas. Quaint old bar plus various other bar/restaurant areas and a nice garden. Big clean and quiet room with a huge and powerful shower (number 8). Food good for evening meals and a decent breakfast selection was included in the price we paid. Good location for exploring the Lake District.
