We were in Tulsa for the Big 12 Wrestling Championships and decided to stay at The Mayo Hotel again. We had stayed there previously 2 years ago for the NCAA Wrestling Championships and liked the quality of our stay. It is also convenient walking distance to the BOK Center and excellent restaurants. However, there was a change in the brand of amenities that I could not use. All bath gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion had the same strong citrus scent that was so overpowering for me. It was a good thing I brought my own supplies.

Mayo the Best??

I was ready to experience the art deco opulence that is the Mayo. Hmmm, well, a couple of bumps on that road. The main ballroom on main level shown in all the PR pictures is unbelievable and amazing. Wish more thought and effort was put into the rest of the Mayo experience. Probably a bunch of nits, but here goes. Pushy valets urging me to use their valet service at $30 a day. I refused and easily found a public parking lot, AROUND THE CORNER, on South Boulder for $10 a day instead. The lighting in the room was curious. Why no lighting in the bedroom/TV viewing area?? I had to use my flashlight ap. to adjust the thermostat. The elevator was infuriating. Sometimes I was in the elevator for two minutes trying to get the damn card to take so I could get to my room (no stairs option to bypass the elevator, btw). And the biggest complaint, the construction zone adjacent to my room in the alley. Starting at 6:30 am to 5 pm. Loud concrete removal down chute, rumbling, truck noise, screeching and construction worker conversation. Not. Peaceful. That is all. Stay at the Campbell...

Wonderfully remodeled

This place is amazing. We went for a business trip but was also with family. One of our rooms had an issue because hotels.com shows a photo of a kitchen and lists “kitchen” in n what the room has and yet the king suite doesn’t have a kitchen. It had a butler kitchen with a mini fridge and tiny sink not a full kitchen. That was disappointing but two days later when a cancellation happened we got the mayo suite with the kitchen. Look at their website or call if you really need a kitchen to ensure you get it. The staff, room (no really it’s an apartment!), gym, rooftop bar, cafe etc were all wonderful. You will enjoy this place especially for the price. We travel a lot and this place is affordable. We parked on the street each night without problems. Book this spot and you will be happy!

I took my five-month-pregnant wife to this hotel for Valentine's Day, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The property was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room had a fresh scent, and everything, from the blankets to the linens, felt immaculate. The bed was relatively comfortable, and the pillows were of high quality. Unfortunately, we ended up with a room on the second floor that faced a back alley. The view was essentially nonexistent—just the side of another building about 20 feet away. The noise from the alley was constant, and it felt like we were woken up every hour throughout the night. The worst part came around 3:50 a.m., when a trash truck arrived to empty several large dumpsters. The slamming of the dumpsters was deafening—louder than thunder or any gunshot would have been in that narrow alley. The repeated beeping of the truck only added to the frustration. You get the picture. Both my wife and I were awake all night due to the noise, which made for a tough stay. I don’t fault The Mayo Hotel directly for this; it’s just something to consider when booking a stay here, as it could be a potential issue depending on your room location.

Neither the Penthouse or the Mark seemed to know what to do with the credit we were given from the hotel front desk. The Penthouse wouldn't accept it at all, the Mark took it but didn't apply it. We were way over charged for the 3 beverages we had. $107 is steep for 3 cocktails. Pretty certain other people's drinks had to have been put on our tab without our consent.
