Weekend family stay

We always like coming to stay at the Derwent Hotel. The hotel swimming pool is lovely, and so is the evening entertainment. The rooms need upgrading and refurbishing especially carpeted areas in the room and the matresses are definitely very old. Although there are things that can be improved we still had a lovely time and im sure we will be back again!

Overall the stay was good, pools were nice, gym equipment was a bit dated, amenities were all great, not to far to walk to beach, friendly staff, breakfast was a bit basic, had to ask for crossant as they were not out on display and only found out they were available from another customer, prices for meals were a bit expensive, room was a bit of a trek to get to as we were on top floor but it was clean and spacious and we slept well as there were plenty of windows to open to let in the cool air, the fan was definitely appreciated

Staff were good which always makes a difference. A short walk to the front and the town centre. Inside pools were very good, plenty of room to swim. Noisy at night with teenagers running around, a school trip, and traffic noise.

Tiered, dated, very uncomfortable beds, weak WiFi, very noisy both nights stay not a lot of sleep due to shouting, bedroom doors banging and people running up and down the corridors till early hours of morning, we are exhausted won’t be going back.
