We had not planned to travel to Timaru, but needed the hospital services. This place was a last-minute booking that was perfect for us. Our family had been traveling in close quarters and this was great to have a little space to move around. Having a functional full kitchen, dining room, living room, and all the clear spaces for recycling and compost was very welcome. The person who checked us in was friendly and offered room options and a couple ideas of what to do in town. They were flexible about our check out timing which was also super helpful to us. We were only there one night, but managed to squeeze in a little blue penguin sighting after sunset.

Clean, spacious, quiet motel.

We booked Fitzgerald on King because it was close to where my daughter lived and the very good reviews. It definitely lived up to the reviews, it was very clean, recently decorated, sunny, roomy, quiet and reasonably priced. It was really good having 2 separate bedrooms as we travelled with our adult son. We would have liked to have had clean towels each day - maybe we didn't read the instructions correctly and should have advised the office - but it didn't matter we managed! Would definitely book again.
