Shamefully Heartless and Uncompassionate Hotel Experience My family traveled back to Fiji after 52 years so our father could finally show us his homeland. Heartbreakingly, during our stay at a different hotel, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. As we struggled to manage the unimaginable, we contacted the hotel to cancel our remaining reservations and explained the tragedy we were facing. To our shock, the hotel showed absolutely no compassion. No refund. No flexibility. Not even a credit or partial refund. Just cold, robotic responses and a flat-out refusal to help in any way. At a time when we were overwhelmed with grief and logistics, this hotel prioritized profit over basic human decency. We weren’t asking for luxury — just a small gesture of understanding during a devastating time for our family. Their heartless policies and refusal to offer even minimal support made a painful situation even worse. I will never forget how poorly we were treated, and I will never stay at this hotel — or any of their affiliated properties — again.

Our first family holiday in Fiji and the Intercontinental Fiji Resort exceeded our expectations. The staff were attentive in all areas of the resort making our stay a delight. Special mention to Sera at breakfast who remembered all of our names and coffee orders and Johno who ran the crab races plus other activities. We will return!

Great check-in experience. Hotel is approx 1Hr drive from Nadi A/port and a little remote. Property is starting to look a little dated and does need a fresh update in rooms and some TLC is some common areas. Reception area has a great spot and view. But it is too inconvenient to get to. Staff are fantastic, helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly (greatest resort Asset by far). Both Restaurants are great. Breakfast is also great at either, for choice. Would suggest Icecream store offerings are a little rich on price. Lunch menu or takeaway should also include healthy alternatives such as sandwiches, tortillas and wraps. Disappointing to see only fried, unhealthy, boring, standard lunch menus that are offered at 5Star Resort Hotels. In room TV offering is basic, limited and quite boring. Bring your Streaming Logins! The Kama Lounge/Bar is a great spot for a drink and nightly entertainment. Very family friendly Resort, facilities and setup. Adult assigned areas and use of facilities, is well organised. Overall, a very relaxing holiday and beach resort location and facilities.

The hotel is excellently run and the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It’s really nice to have an adults only pool as there were quite a few children there.

The staff and the cleaninless was excellent at the property. One thing that can be improved is the night time activities . Maybe add a DJ in the lounge for few hrs for younger guests as everything gets quiet too early. The Dinnjng was great Chef Mukesh Chand , Ravnit Prasad and Ifraz are excellent and made meals very tasty and traditional . The flavoring on the food was amazing.

Review for InterContinental Fiji: Pros: The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, the beach is stunning, the food is excellent, and the location is truly unbeatable. Cons: Restaurant service can be quite slow, operating on “Fiji time.” The resort is very family-oriented, which may not be ideal for couples seeking a quieter, more romantic atmosphere. Additionally, cleanliness in the rooms and restaurant dishware could use more attention to detail.
