I've been staying at the Swan for years and booked this room 6 weeks ago, requesting a room in the Courtyard. I understand that the rooms may not always be available so when I checked in and was told that the Courtyard was unavailable, I was disappointed but understood. I later found out through a colleague that someone in front of her checking in was not happy with her room being in the old building (Room 14) and insisted they move her outside, they offered her room 19 in the Courtyard, I was put in room 14. I don't sleep in the older part of the building due to the noise on the high street. I'll not stay here again, the Portal up the road is a similar price and much more peaceful

1 night stay. Perfect welcome by the young lady on reception...personally showed me to my room which was a nice touch. Ate at the restaurant, food was delicious shout out needed for the guys in the kitchen as well the 2 members of staff in the restaurant, both of whom were accommodating to my requests. Room and bathroom was clean with nice products to use. With the age of the building flooring in my room sloped, meaning the bed wasn't perfectly level and had to adjust my balance when simply standing up. This didnt detract from a comfortable stay. TV in the room was an internet tv but couldn't just switch on an watch, had to go through the apps which was a faff as had to log into some of them just to watch terrestrial based programmes.

Lovely village

Lovely room, clean and great hospitality tray. Village is wonderful, lots of great places to eat and drink. Downsides for us were the car park that cannot be used but isn't advised before the stay, the loud water works and a room sold for 3 occupants but only came with one bed. But otherwise good place for the amount we paid to rest your head.

2 night mid-week break

Very happy with our stay at The Swan Hotel, met by friendly staff, very comfy bed in one of the coach house rooms and tasty breakfast. We also ate in the hotel on the first night and was very happy with our meal and service. Parking is to the rear of the hotel which is on the main street through Tarporley, very central and easy. Overall an excellent stay

First stay at the swan hotel, probably our last The hotel is tired We helped ourselves to a table for breakfast where we got our juice, no one asked for our room number or offered us coffee! Let alone anything to eat. It took fifteen minutes before we made eye contact with the staff to place a cooked breakfast order. Very poor service and the restaurant wasn’t busy

Really outstanding option for us as a family - huge room we could all share in the centre of a beautiful village. Hotel has loads of charm and character + we loved the decor in the room and the public areas. Good atmosphere in the bar area downstairs and the breakfast was epic. Would highly recommend the Swan and we will return.
