4/10 Poor

Where to begin? We booked in for 2 nights—or so I thought! On the second day of our stay, we decided to forgo room cleaning since we were only there for one more night. I put the Do No Disturb sign in the door and we went out exploring for the day.
At 3:30 I got a call from the manager saying that we had overstayed and they had gone into our room, packed our stuff and moved our bags to the lobby. It was my error thinking that I had booked 2 nights but he was quite short with me and I felt he was implying that we had deliberately overstayed (by putting the Do Not Disturb sign on). He claims someone tried to call earlier but could not reach me—they had no phone numbers for me but finally got my number because we made dinner reservations at the hotel restaurant the night before (which is a whole other story!)
Seriously?? Since when does a hotel not have phone numbers for their guests? The manager said it was because we booked through Expedia (Hotels.cm)—in a very condescending way!!
As it turned out, he did us a favour because we did not have to pay an exorbitant amount to stay at a very unfriendly place. We ended up staying in Fort William as an extremely friendly Premier Inn for 1/3 of the price!
