The Commodores Inn was a tired hotel in need of updating. The room was fine and clean but the lobby, hallways and other spaces were well worn. Also, it is located on a busy road and not in walking distance of any restaurants or the nice downtown area. The front desk had no guidance either for good restaurants for dinner. The price was very high compared to the condition of the place.

The hotel is quite old. I had some problems with the toilet clogging. Initially I got no help with that. After a few hours I was told to unclog the toilet myself. In the meantime I used the front desk toilets. Then much later when another guest had a problem as well I was told someone would help. If another guest did not have an issue would I just been left without resolving the issue? Not sure.

This was probably a great place to stay in 1985, but we ended up in a room with water stains on the ceiling the tile ceiling falling in, torn carpets, hieroglyphics on the headboard, a “mite trap” on the pillows for $400/night. The staff couldn’t have been nicer.

The staff was incredibly rude (we saw one couple try to check in only to be told to wait because the employee was busy watching a movie). The property is old and smells of cigarette smoke. There were hairs from multiple people all over the bedsheets and on the shower walls. For the price of $300/night, I expected way more.

Dirty carpets, windows, old bedding and drapes. Wallpaper torn. Tub fall protectors peeling off. Dirty microwave in lobby. No microwave in room. Fridge in room not working. Wanted to take credit card info and write numbers and date on an invoice to enter next day. Upon denial, did enter and charge room upon my demanding numbers not be written down. Night staff was confused about how to charge two rooms to two different people, rather than one room to the person who booked. Location of hotel was good. However you could hear people walking on floor above and light shown under the door and between the door and the wall. Would recommend staying somewhere else in the area.
