An historic stay

I love the Stirling Highland Hotel. It is a little dated but the rooms are a great size with a clean spacious bathroom. The thing I most love about it though is its history. You can still see the fine bones of the school it used to be and every corridor and classroom is still there but with a new purpose. It is so easy to imagine it thronging with kids. Being built around a quad is particularly charming. The leisure suite is great too with a lovely pool area and great gym.

Good value stay, food good, staff very friendly, leisure area good, clean and staff their very helpful. Some parts of hotel bit tired looking but overall we enjoyed our stay and would definately go back.

Great location for overnight break

Overall happy with stay, Hotel in great location and all the staff friendly and helpful. Lovely bar area to relax and prices not too bad for a hotel. Room itself was ok but comfy. Bit rough around the edges, things like marks on walls and furniture. Other thing was buffet breakfast, when we arrived the things that were available had clearly been on hot plate too long, bacon and potato scones so hard could not eat. They were waiting to bring out scrambled and fried eggs but couldn’t wait as everything else was going cold and I know they didn’t appear for another 10 mins. Would probably not pay to include breakfast if went back again, rather go to a cafe and order fresh.

Parking Charges at the hotel on there own website it said it was free but if you book through on line websites there is a 10 pound daily parking charge this was not stated when I booked it felt like I had been scammed would never stay there again definitely not happy as I wouldn't have booked this hotel I would have booked another hotel only booked it as I was led to believe that parking was free SCAM

We have stayed here many times as it is very dog friendly and enjoy the area for a wander. Things i did not enjoy this time - the window was faulty and the room initially was cold as it was left open and would not close. Toiletries are meagre and not the best quality. The room was noisy and could hear movement constantly above, from all sides and the hallway, rooms next to us. Nescafe coffee is not the best for room facilities nor is ONE bottle of water, 2 small biscuits. Parking used to be free and they were sneaky about the ‘new’ charges and i was not informed ONCE until i was already paying for it. The spa facilities were still appreciated and of a good standard and i would go back for this overall but may try a few other hotels next time to compare instead of our usual straight back to this one every time we visit.

Not as good as first time we stayed

We had stayed before and really enjoyed the room facilities hence visiting again. This time we had a room which was meant to be deluxe but was tired and needed updating, the carpet was worn and marked, the bedding looked dull and the bathroom needed to be replaced. Not the best buffet breakfast. We visited the spa but the mens changing rooms were out of service and struggled as we did not have 2 x £1 coins for the lockers. The spa facilities and changing rooms felt quite dated and we found it hard to get any staff attention.
