Originally started as a summer resort destination, Steamboat has become renowned for its world-class skiing and mountain biking options. And your Steamboat vacation rental will put your family in the middle of it all.
Winter activities include skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, biking, sledding and fishing. The city houses two ski areas – Steamboat and Howelsen Hill, Colorado's oldest continuously operated ski area. Or simply play in the smooth, dry snow, referred to as Champagne Powder, for which Steamboat is known.
Mountain biking is huge in Steamboat. Known as Bike Town USA, the city has trails for all ages and skill levels. Hundreds of miles of single track, as well as over 50 miles of downhill and freeride terrain.
** In March 2020 when the resort shut down, we gave refunds for any unused nights and would do that again.

Family reunion
We got to Steamboat Springs early and the management was so helpful to allow us into the unit before check in! The property was warm, clean, comfortable and the looping shuttle was convenient to get to the ski areas. Private shuttle needs like going out to eat or shop requires a different shuttle type such as Itrip or Steamboat Express which require an hour advance notice. For airport shuttling you must schedule 2 days or more in advance. We had trouble with this since 2 of our party left on different days & there was a blizzard disruption.
The management reached out multiple times to help us and looked for alternatives. Really appreciate that good communication! It was a wonderful trip with great skiing and shopping! The condo would benefit some beach towels for the hot tub use.

Timber Run Resort
Nice older set of town homes that are close to the wild blue gondola. Nice and easy to get around. This place is pretty well kept and very standard as far as accommodations are concerned. It offered shuttle services to the slopes but as with everything, there are always hiccups. Prices are over-inflated during the holidays of course. The minor problems we had were with people parking on the actual sidewalks so it was difficult to get our stuff to our rooms without walking through deep snow, staff needed to keep checking people parking out of line for sure. We had two showers but only one had hot water. There was a gas fireplace but it did not work. Place just needs a good once over as it gets used hard for sure. Bathrooms were very small but once again, this place was around 500/night during holidays so choices are limited. They offered a heated pool and hot tubs but one of the outside tubs were broken and its always crowded up with kids in the evenings so get there earlier if you want a little quiet time. But overall decent place and it served us well for a family of 4.
We enjoyed the 3 beds and two separate baths. The unit could use some updates. There were also a few bats hanging in the top of the staircase. I thought it was cool, my husband did not.

Steamboat
Property has nice features, however needs some work. The “new” king bed mattress is brick hard. Some may like that-we don’t. I found a foam mattress topper in the closet and we put that on our bed which helped considerably. The plumbing in the kitchen needs immediate repair. Great location, and the pool, tennis courts and grills are terrific.

Dated and Dirty and no follow up
We stayed at this property from March 4-9, 2022.
Pros:
-The shuttle driver too and from the mountain each day was great.
-The location is okay. They have a shuttle but it can get busy to the mountain and if you want to go into town you need a reservation.
-The hot tubs were great.
Cons:
-No CO2 detector that we could find. This is required by law in Colorado especially with a gas fireplace in the unit.
-Smoke detectors were found in closets under blankets and one on a shelf by the front door.
-What appeared to be dog food was on the floor in the living room even though pets are not welcome.
-Doorbell did not work.
-Even though you pay a hefty housekeeping fee you still have to run the dishwasher and empty all garbage before you leave.
-The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything.
-The clock was set to the wrong time.
-Lights were plugged into the wrong outlets and did not work with the switches.
-The TV was unplugged so we have to move furniture to plug in.
-No kleenex in the unit.
-The dresser in the master bedroom closet was broken.
I reported most of these items to the host through VRBO messaging and was told to text someone. Nothing was resolved so I sent another message on Sunday and no response. I have pictures but did not find a place to post them.

Great experiance
The HOA was great and very accommodating, we arrived prior to our check in and they allowed us to leave our luggage near the lobby while we hit the slopes. The unit accommodated our 5 adults comfortably. its a quick 5 minute shuttle ride to the lifts

Perfect location for first time in Steamboat (winter)
The best part of this location is the free shuttle service, and hot tubs/sauna. The shuttle runs all day, taking guest to the ski mountain and resort. From there, you can grab a very quick bus to the downtown area. We were a family of 4 adults and were very comfortable here. The master has a good bed. Not the best I've ever slept in, but we slept very well. The condo is well heated and during 0 degree weather, we were never cold. They have a very nice lodge type room to hang out in which came in handy as we had a 4 hour wait until check in. You also have access to ski lockers right outside your door for your equipment.
