We stayed here for a week. It was a mix of good and bad. Rhonda at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. The bar service was good. Food was delicious and prices were reasonable. The common areas were well kept and in good condition. The pool was clean and heated in the weekend. The rooms on the other hand are in need of some updates. Our shower curtain rod was rusty. The soap dispenser pump was broken. Housekeeping doesn’t speak much English so they hand you a phone to enter in your request so it can be translated. I put an empty Kleenex box on top of the Kleenex holder yet nobody noticed and I still had to hunt down staff to get a new one. The sink leaked around the faucet. We made several calls to Maintenance to get a working safe. The window curtains had water stains from where water leaked in through the window. The furniture was sticky and that didn’t go away with a good scrubbing. When our flight got cancelled and we had an additional stay, we moved to a different hotel. Weigh your options. There is much better in the island.

This stay was frustrating and poorly managed. We had to change three rooms: • the first room had a non-working air conditioner; • the second room had a broken shower; • the third room had a very weak shower, and the room faced ruins, which is not acceptable for a hotel stay. On top of that, construction work started at 7:00 AM right outside the window, with no warning. Sleeping was impossible. The staff were fine and did what they could, and the breakfast was good. However, this does not compensate for the overall condition of the hotel. The real issue is management/ownership. Basic things like air conditioning, showers, and sound comfort are clearly not maintained. Guests should not have to move rooms multiple times or wake up to construction noise. Until the owner invests in basic repairs and proper maintenance, this hotel cannot be recommended.

Room had an odd odor and felt musty. AC and the lamp shades were dirty and rusty. Also I specifically asked for poolside view but the view I got was of a dried out resort with ruble scattered everywhere that was an eye sore. Staff was friendly but what I saw in the picture is not what I was expecting. The rest of the hotel was nice just my room was not so nice.

The employees were our main complaint. Restaurants were not open during their posted business hours. When we asked the front desk, we were told “they are open” which was an insult because we were at the restaurant before and after asking and they were definitely not open. Housekeeping was a problem as well. They took our dirty towels and didn’t leave any clean ones. They didn’t restock the coffee bar. They left dirty glasses in the room as well. All they did was make the beds and sweep the floor. The beach access was nice, but due to the staff, we spent most of our time down the road at the competition. We will not be staying at Holiday Inn Resort again.
