It was a pleasant stay, location is great. However, no one cleaned our rooms (later on website, I read housekeeping is every 3 days, which I was not informed about at check in) and the trash was not taken out daily. Breakfast was ok with a waffle maker and some hot items. For 2 nights, 3 days, this was an ok accomadation.

Disappointing after a previous nice stay

Room was small , dark, and every time we walked past the dresser, the drawers opened. Had to put a chair in front of it to keep closed. Shower was really small and difficult to move in. (Normal sized person here, fyi.) Stayed at this hotel in June with my husband in a very spacious, bright room with a King bed which had obviously been remodeled. So was very disappointed this time with the room with 2 queen beds stay with my cousin. Room definitely needs remodel. Definitely wasn't worth the price paid thanks to it being a summer concert weekend.

Choose wisely

We travel to Tahoe every year. This year we chose Hotel Becket for its location and cost. We arrived around 4pm to check in for our 4 night stay and there were a couple of people already waiting. These people were existing patrons who had concerns about not having towels in their rooms after housekeeping had serviced their rooms. We made our way to our room which housekeeping was in process of cleaning. As we approached, a patron from another room asked housekeeping about towels for their room. Housekeeping finished up and I went straight to the bathroom which HAD NO TOWELS except for 2 small washcloths and a shower mat. ☹️ Upon returning from dinner and walking about around 11pm I went to the front desk to ask for 4 towels. The front desk attendant said housekeeping would bring them to my room, which they promptly did. I don’t know if it was a staffing issue or inventory issue that cause the 5 rooms to not have towels. The room itself was very dated. I would not walk on that carpet barefoot. I always travel with flip flops for this reason(they are useful for the shower as well😉) The bathroom was small and had a barn door which did not function properly. I attempted to use the restroom and the door kept sliding open. Each time we had to finesse the door to stay put. Parking is not the best either. It’s best to park early and walk everywhere. Would not recommend.

The room was nice but I paid for a kitchen by bed and they tried to put me in a room with a queen bed. Desk clerk acted surprised when I told him the room had a queen bed and asked to be put in a room with a king bed. Room was clean. I had to ask for new towels each day as they did not clean the room daily. Free breakfast was basic.

Disappointing stay

Added charge for parking was annoying - should be included. Parking lot exceptionally tight especially if you have a pickup truck! Room not cleaned, waste baskets emptied or towels replaced after first day of two day stay - had to go to desk to request more towels. Dailey room service was advertised on web site but told they were cutting back when asked why room not serviced. Noisy from guest walking in room above. Charge for pets acceptable, but no place to walk dog except for adjacent dirt overflow parking area. Free breakfast adequate but no different than other best westerns - I.e. self service Advertised a free drink from the Becket Tavern, but when requested voucher was told they don’t do that anymore! TV streaming was slow and would freeze several times for several minutes. Internet mediocre

The property/room was a dump. It’s old outdated and they clearly use paint to cover the old broken pieces of the wall. The rug was soo disgusting and dirty. The restroom smelled and everything is outdated. The pics are definitely misleading and so are the reviews. I’m super super shocked anyone would rate this hotel more than one star.

Pros: Decent stay, convenient, good breakfast. Clean rooms. Cons: Right off main road. Parking can be a problem. They had run out of body wash, and in two days stay it never got replenished even when I asked the front desk.

When I stayed here I was informed only after I fully checked in and got my room key that the hotel was without hot water. I was then given a drink coupon to their on-site bar for myself and the other 2 people who were traveling with me. We walked over to the bar only to find out it was closed and we were only in town for 1 night. I gave the coupon back and asked to speak with a manager and was told that they went home for the night and to come back in the morning. The next morning the manager told me she was unable to reduce the price since I booked through Expedia, but she did wave the $10 parking fee and she also had me sign up for best western rewards where she gave me ~$50 in points. The overall experience was very disappointing.

To each their own! My feedback is based on my own experiences when staying at the Becket Hotel. First of all, the hotel is located in the center of downtown Lake Tahoe. It is very convenient and walkable. The free breakfast is good with varied choices. However, the hotel itself is very poorly maintained. It is outdated, dirty, and broken. I am not so happy with the room at all. It has a broken floor by the door, a loose handle on the shower door, the floor has many big, dirty stains, the bench dresser is dirty with black stains all over, and furthermore, the AC is horrible. Every time we turn it on, a foul smell comes out, which is unpleasant. They probably never clean it. The parking will run out if you check in late even if you have to pay for parking.

Was a great stay until the hot water stopped working. There was zero communication from management or staff in regards to when it will be working, and what they were doing to rectify the situation with their guest. Unable to shower for two days. Rooms were not cleaned during this time even after calling and requesting. Unfortunately will probably not stay here again.
