Historical.....over 100 years old. Breakfast has waffles and homemade cakes and egg dish. Unique historical furniture.

The property has plenty of vintage charm and low prices. The staff was pleasant and check-in was a breeze. The bed was comfortable. However, the room we stayed in could use several repairs and paint. There were broken chairs and dead plants all around the property too. There was quite a bit of highway noise as well, which I suppose I should’ve just expected since it’s on a major thoroughfare. Also, the pool had not been treated in quite a while based on the algae build up. We skipped it on a very hot day. Lastly, one of our pillows had a dirty foot print on it. We are not very picky at all, especially when the price is right, but I thought others should know some of these details.

There were literally ants EVERYWHERE. Every morning I woke up and killed at least 30 of them. Upon check-in, the man working the front desk also asked a lot of extremely personal questions about my plans and whereabouts, all of which I did not answer as a early 20s young lady for OBVIOUS safety reasons. The pool was extremely murky water, I didn’t get in, and there were people that hung around the pool smoking every night and morning that I was present at the hotel.

Would not recommend this property. Rooms facing the street are extremely noisy, doors and windows have large gaps, Sheer curtains on the doors allow lighting from local Businesses to flood the room with light. Room was dirty under the bed and furnishings. Spider webs in the light fixtures. exposed raised nails on the floor and casework.

Good stay for overnight business trip.

Nice historic location, convenient to downtown Sonora. Fun to stay in period decorated room. Blackout curtians and a taller showerhead would have made great improvements. Bed was comfortable and rocking chairs on porch were a nice touch. Overall a good stay. Nothing fancy but a great historic getaway for the price.

Only stayed one night. Sheets were very wrinkled and poorly cleaned. Pillow cases had holes in them. Breakfast was all gone before we could get any. Very old building that has been poorly attempted to renovate

Uhhhh....nope.

This is a historic hotel, I didnt expect modern, but expected charm and reasonable comfort. Waited 30 min in lobby, rang bell several times, no desk clerk to check me in. Room numbering was confusing and lots of stair climbing. No fridge or microwave (not unexpected, given the age of the hotel). TV remote did not work, could not change channel or adjust volume, had to unplug to turn TV off. Standing water in shower over my ankles, very slow drain. Toilet NOT BOLTED TO FLOOR, rocked side to side alarmingly. Gap all around door, showing daylight. Wall unit AC was kind of adequate, but blew air directly in my face in bed. No USB outlets for charging phone -- again, older hotel but could be solved with a desk lamp with USB ports. Room seemed *kind of* clean, but had a dingy, grungy feel and I didnt want to get between the sheets, so I slept in my clothes and left the bed made -- almost considered going to sleep in my car. Yes, it was that bad. Went down to get breakfast in the morning, at least coffee, but another guest who said she was a retired nurse, whispered, "Don't trust that food in there -- he was scrambling the eggs last night, and I saw a lot of that stuff was left out from yesterday." I have two more concerts to attend in the area next month but DEFINITELY won't be staying here.

Historic Stay

The queen bed was comfortable. The rooms were small, but this building was built in the 1800s. The bathroom hot water at the sink dribbled and would not shut off. Would I stay again? Yes, this was a historic building which was fine. What imperfections did not prevent us from having a nice stay.
