We stayed for two months at the Armstrong Estate during early 2026. The location of the property is perfect--a 15 minute walk to Sonoma Plaza, and the neighborhood in which the house is located could not be prettier. The house is very roomy, and it was exceptionally clean. There were a few relatively minor issues. There was no house manual and no instructions about how to operate things in the house, except for the TVs. This left us literally in the dark for a few days, because much of the lighting is controlled by hand-held controllers that are anything but intuitive. We needed an in-person visit from the maintenance guy before we could turn on all the lights, and even then they did not all work well. We were not the first guests to experience this problem. Likewise, the hot tub came with no operating instructions, and the fire pit did not work. No instructions also for working the gas fireplace, or virtually anything else. The freezer was not operating correctly, but the rental agent did get a new refrigerator/freezer and had it installed pretty quickly. The agent also had some additional silverware sent to us, because what was there when we arrived was not sufficient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. But the property manager needs to do a better job attending to the small details, like making sure there is a manual for a property that is very large and somewhat complicated.
