A great area away from too much noise. Walking distance to food,shopping and all your needs.

Very central in a nice leafy part of town.
Pros:It was half the price of our pre-flight Sydney hotel and orders of magnitude better.
Cons:Some people would find something to whinge about but we were very happy.
Location:In the old French quarter. Leafy, picturesque, with just enough street life to avoid it being boring. A couple of blocks to the river, shops, markets.
Really can't fault it. Met us at the beautiful Siem Reap airport, made us very welcome on arrival. Organised everything we asked for. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful even at 4:00am. Breakfast was abundant, varied and superb.

Great location, good facilities, excellent staff.
Pros:Room size was double what we had in some Vietnamese hotels. Rooms were also well appointed and comfortable.
Cons:More Cambodian options on breakfast menu.
Location:Good location, handy to most of the major attractions.
It's probably worth noting that we stayed in Siem Reap for 3 nights after having spent almost a month in Vietnam, so the basic differences between hotels in the 2 countries was noticable. Most buildings in Vietnam have a small footprint, so rooms tend to be small. In Cambodia, it's the opposite.. In Vietnam, the accent for hotel food is primarily Vietnamese food, with western alternatives catered for. We didn't have a western meal in all the time we were in Vietnam.
Food In Chateau was very "western", with only one Cambodian option for breakfast. That was disappointing, as generally, people don't go to indo china looking for western food.
The taxi driver that attached himself to us at the airport when we arrived proved to be appalling. That night, we took the easy option of grabbing a tuk tuk in front of the hotel. The driver proved to be terrific, and we used him for the next 3 days. His name is Sokha, and he bases himself at Chateau. If you're staying at Chateau, tell them you'd like to use him as your driver..

Spacious well appointed rooms
Pros:Quiet, clean, well appointed, staff friendly and efficient staff.
Cons:The seating in the sitting area uncomfortable
Location:close to good small supermarket,only a short Tuttut ride to Pub St and Markets
We were lucky to have an upgrade and found ourselves in a huge two bedroom suite.
The staff were polite and friendly.
We found the bed very firm and a little uncomfortable.
The grounds and pool area were very well cared for.
We would recommend this hotel
