I had reserved the junior suit . Apon check in i was put in room 319 . It was the most disgusting room i had ever seen . Burn holes in table and other areas . Stuff still in the toilet.. dubble checked my reservation to make sure it saide junior suit . Left my stuff in the room and went back down to the front desk . There i was informed that the junior suit was distroeyed by previous guests . She proceeds to tell me i moved you into a lake faceing room . I explained that when rooms that are reserved and the hotel can not fulfill the reservation that you usually get an upgraded room . Not a down grade . The person at the desk agreed with me . She them made it much better by putting me in the exutive suit . Room 327 i believe after that the rest of the stay was great. Thank you . I will book and stay again.

Hotel is pretty cool with a lot of history. Our room was huge and very clean. Front desk staff extremely helpful at check in. Years ago I assume they allowed smoking everywhere and you can still smell it in the halls on the 3rd floor. Thankfully you couldn’t detect it in the room. That is the only negative.

Hotel was clean, but has seen better days.

Exterior needs some attention as it is dirty and weathered. The Room was comfortable and clean with some new carpet needed. The view from our room was nice as we faced the Bay. Has a pool and hot tub. Restaurant was nice, but pricey and the waitress didn’t know anything about the food on the menu we asked her about. Fortunately the food was tasty and well cooked.

Booked a junior suite with 2 double beds. Checked into the room which had one double bed and a love seat. Dust triggered allergies almost immediately. Front desk person very accommodating and worked with Expedia to ensure a refund. I appreciated him for that.

Cheaper in Great Location

I had to book a stay with short notice. Nicole, at the front desk is awesome. I also had another booking and she gave me tips on how to book and not incur cancellation fees. She also looked up where and when I could book to pay less. All staff are friendly. The area gets active at night but there is 24 hour security. My car was safe and there were no "kusties" hanging around. Instead they go to the Marina Park or cross over bridge.

Nice view of Lake Superior from my 5th (top) floor, even though I asked for a ground floor room (since I’m traveling with my puppy dog!). The outside noise (3 train tracks & a major road) was a bit much too. But, since I will probably never be back in Thunder Bay I did enjoy the walk down by the dock and the people were nice and friendly.
