Excellent staff, very polite and helpful. Situated right in the centre of Shrewsbury so ideally placed. Our room was compact, but had everything that we needed and it was clean and tidy. The only downside was the heat of the rooms, meaning we needed to have windows open on a busy road. There was a fan in our room. The room was noisy but being directly above a pub was what we expected, plus probably hard to insulate for this in a building of that age! Overall, good value for money and well positioned for a weekend away.

Straight forward instructions of how to check in, the staff were friendly and helpful of how to access the hotel room and out the building. Lovely little room with a lovely window view outside, spotless with some tea and coffee treats. Convenient in the middle of town too. Will be returning again !

Dirty carpet and sofa. Poor shower. Blocked shower tray meant mid shower pauses to allow water to run away. Hot/cold balance almost impossible to maintain.No staff around when we left to complain to. Bed on a slope down towards the headboard. No breakfast option. First and last time staying her

The room wa clean and comfortable. The staff are brilliant. There were a couple of 'issues' when we arrived. TWe couldn't get the bedside lights to work and the radiator was very noisy and not heating. We mentioned this to the staff and both issues were sorted straight away (the fuse switch on the wall had been turned off, hence the lights not working and th radiator had an airlock and needed to be bled).There is some noise from the bar below but this ends when the bar closes at 10.30 and then all is quiet. The food in the bar is delicious and you get a discount on food and drink if you are staying upstairs!

The website is completely misleading and does not warn you about the LOUD BLARING MUSIC that you are literally on top of. There is absolutely NO SOUNDPROOFING as it is a grade 2 listed building and not allowed, the music is BOOMING in the rooms until past midnight which are directly above the bar. Cromwell's Tap House is a unique establishment located in the historic town of Shrewsbury. It offers a warm and inviting atmosphere THIS SHOULD BE CHANGED TO.....WARM AND INVITING ATMOSPHERE UNTIL 7PM WHEN THE BLARING MUSIC COMES ON SO THE ACCOMMODATION UPSTAIRS ABOVE THE BAR BECOMES UNUSABLE FOR ANYONE WANTING THE WARM AND INVITING ATMOSPHERE THEY WERE PROMISED ON OUR WEBSITE where guests can enjoy a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and premium cocktails. IT DOES NOT STATE THAT THERE IS BOOMING MUSIC LIKE BLACKPOOL ON SPEED Our hotel features comfortable accommodation THIS IS A LIE, THE ACCOMMODATION IS ABOVE THE BAR WITH BOOMING MUSIC BLARING OUT UNTIL PAST MIDNIGHT , and our restaurant serves delicious food made with fresh, local ingredients. Whether you're looking for a place to stay, a great meal, or a fun night out, Cromwell's Tap House. Comfortable and inviting accommodation THIS IS A LIE for travellers in the historic town of Shrewsbury.
