Savai'i Holiday Packages
The fourth-largest island in Polynesia happens to be the biggest in Samoa.
Savaii will dazzle you with its crystal clear water, dense green jungle and black lava fields. Not to mention the irresistible green sea turtles, who want nothing more than to be your new best mates. Check out our Savaii packages for the best combinations of flights and hotels money can buy. Sandals. Sunscreen. Bathing suit. Check, check and check.
Things to Do in Savaii
Let’s begin, shall we? Start off your holiday in Savaii with a guided tour of the midnight-black Saleaula Lava Fields on the north coast of the island. They were created when the local volcano blew its top in 1905 and covered over 103 square km of land in ash and lava. Check out the ruins of an old village and the standing skeleton of a church that looks like it should be a part of a haunted house. Next, trade in the barren land of a lava field for the lush vegetation of a jungle canopy in the village of Falealupo. All you have to do is pay a small fee to the village and you’ll be able to criss-cross the canopy walkway like a monkey.
Do you have enough human friends? Maybe you’re looking for a different species to rap with. Dive into the wetlands sanctuary at Satoalepai Village and hang out with dozens of green sea turtles. The friendly blokes swim right up to you, exchanging pleasantries and enjoying your presence. You guys will be mates in no time.
Shopping, Dining & Nightlife
Even though this is a nation in the South Pacific, there’s plenty of shopping to do. Convenience marts, electronic shops and big clothing stores can be found around the island, but if you want to get your hands on some local flair, check out the villages. The people are welcoming, and will invite you to purchase their beautifully crafted siapo artwork. Folks back home will look at you with envy when you disembark your plane draped in a Samoan sarong.
When you get hungry, eat some food. Many of the resorts around Savaii have restaurants attached serving fresh dishes of seafood and locally grown fruits and vegetables. Be sure to top your meal off with fausi, a dessert made up of caramelised taro and coconut cream sauce. Hopefully, you’re lucky enough to dine with a family in a village and take part in an umu. All you need to know is that there’s a whole pig, seaweed, crayfish, baked taro and rice. This meal alone makes Savaii holidays worth every penny.
Your best chance at nightlife is to hang around the resorts and enjoy the after-hours festivities at their respective bars. There are also some nights spots along the waterfront on the wharf where you can enjoy cold beer from Samoa’s two breweries.

Savaii Lagoon Resort
Savaii Lagoon is a truly tropical island resort, it is picture perfect in an incredible setting. I travelled from Australia with my three tall teenage children, and the villa was ideal for us with two single beds and a queen. The space was generous, with air-con and a large ceiling fan so we all ...

Stevenson's at Manase
Large areas of the resort are run down and abandoned. The are holes in the deck around the pool. Wifi is only available at reception and is intermittent at best. For the price you will get better amenities staying in a Beach Fale instead. That said, the staff did everything they could to help us ...
