Had a great stay at CSM at the beginning of October. Room was compact but had a lovely sea view. Bed was firm and comfortable, excellent shower. Room cleaned every day and two complimentary bottles of water left daily. Corridor had a very musty smell (Rm 624) but this did not permeate into the room. Buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, hot or cold and great quality. Restaurant (La Savina) was really nice too but there was a good choice of restaurants just outside of the resort which we also used. Staff were great, friendly, helpful, efficient. It rained very heavily over our last couple of days and several places had buckets out for drips, towels to mop up areas but the staff handled it really well, lots of umbrellas to hand. Lots of nice decorous touches around the hotel - pictures, wall hangings, cushions, wooden side tables - so, although the hotel isn't in the first bloom of youth, it still felt modern and looked after. Excellent location, would recommend and return

This hotel has a beautiful setting, but the experience is nowhere near five star. They lean on the Hilton brand, but the standards are not there. The first room was much smaller than advertised, badly designed, and the bathroom blind turned see-through at night with the light on, leaving no privacy. Even after paying for an upgrade, the balcony bath was overlooked from the restaurant above, WiFi barely worked, fridges never chilled, and music from a speaker overhead ran until 1–2am and restarted at 7am. Phones didn’t work as labelled, no guest info provided, no irons, and only steamers with nowhere to use them. Half board was a disaster. All meals in one buffet, drinks not explained, wine bottles on ice implied inclusion but were charged, food poor, and on one night mains never arrived for many guests including us. We gave up and ate elsewhere. The beach club was the same: €65–100 minimum spend for loungers yet service so bad you had to chase staff for a drink. Checkout was the final insult: refund mishandled, checkout delayed, the wrong card charged without authorisation, pre-authorisation left hanging, and refund pushed into Expedia’s system without telling me. Only discovered by chasing. Some staff were excellent – pool bar team, housekeeping, front desk during the upgrade, and valet staff in particular. But overall this is three to four star service charging five star prices.

Room for improvement. Nice hotel in a good location, well placed to explore the island. Top-tier gym facilities and lots of parking spaces available. Room was nice - club king swim out. Worth noting that these rooms are north-facing, so not ideal for a comfortable water temperature. Service was not up to the minimum you'd expect at a 5 star hotel. Long wait to check in, no welcome drink on arrival. One busy morning the breakfast buffet was a total disaster. Guests were not being served hot drinks or food from the menu etc, staff having big fall outs between one another in front of guests. Food/drink was fine, although options for vegans and vegetarians are limited. Better food and drink can be found nearby, for better value. There is a significant colony of stray cats living in a nearby wooded area. These cats roam free around the hotel throughout the day, and many of them remain unneutered. One cat even gave birth to its litter underneath a sunbed beside the pool one morning. Staff totally unconcerned, one guest had to liase with a local charity to save a kitten the mother had abandoned. The alternative being we all just sat around the pool with a dead newborn kitten. The hotel seemingly have zero regard for the welfare of cats who are effectively living on their property. It was quite distressing to see. In a nutshell, this hotel did not exceed any expectations. It was the bare minimum I had anticipated, and in some areas simply falls short of 5 star standards.

Nice hotel, friendly staff with good facilities. Breakfast was nice with a stunning ocean view. Slightly remote for our liking with limited public transport options. Parking is a good option, however is not on the premesis and so relies on hotel staff to take you to and from the car
