I was in town for a reunion. I have stayed there several times. I was raised in Monmouth but left after high school long ago. Something needs to be done (negotiated between both taxes and demolition) on that skeleton building - it's hideous and been there way too long. There are plenty of people there and additionally, those who come back like me occasionally, that would contribute to correcting, including me. But then, things need to be done all over the state. And that is why I initially moved out of Oregon and that is why I would never move back. That hotel should be full every night! The employees are over worked and no doubt, underpaid. Aside from the location of the hotel, the employees are the biggest asset.

Was so pleasantly surprised by the room and friendly staff. This is really the only hotel in this tiny town and it was a “staycation” to come see a concert in the park. It’s been a very long time that hotel staff both mentioned and recognized my VIP Expedia status. The young man who checked us in was clearly trained well and provided GREAT customer service. We were given a bottle of wine as VIP member and the room we were given was great! Liked our stay and will be back. Not sure why the hotel has such a low star rating. I will warn you, the hotel restaurant and bar will close early or unannounced if they don’t have any business, so plan ahead for that. They might not be open as expected.

I love INDEPENDENCE 🇺🇸

Stellar stay!!! Loved the comfort in this hotel. Booked a corner suite, for extra space... loved all the windows, kitchen, bathroom, and beds were so comfy. Will definitely stay here again! Oh, and don't forget the cookies in the lobby, YUM! And the osprey's on the roof. Plus the live web cam.. so fun!

Front desk was very helpful! Fresh lemon/lime ice water and cookies was a nice treat after checking in. They were conveniently located near elevators on our way to the room. Grounds and river views are gorgeous and peaceful. Paved walking trail along the river proved to be a relaxing stroll after our evening meal.

The staff is so welcoming, friendly and kind! They were so helpful to us with any questions we had while here. The hotel is right off the river, walking trail and in walking distance to the quaint little town with shopping and dining options. The hotel facilities are wonderful as well.

Beautiful hotel. Everything was tastefully done, spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having the restaurant on site with a choice for sitting outside with a view of the river or inside, also with a view. Their hot tub is by reservation only, so we were able to enjoy it by ourselves for a half hour. Have not had that option before and liked it a lot. The location worked well for our day trip to Monmouth the next day.

We loved getting away from the freeway to this peaceful location. The riverfront setting is beautiful. The small town was fun to wander. The room was small but very comfy. The high ceiling made it feel spacious. The private hot tub, available to reserve, was wonderful!
