We were put in the basement room and It smelled like sewer, it was cold and humid. The staff weren’t so bad. Only accessible (virtually) but available to an extent. I would never have booked it knowing that the room was in the basement. It’s a non-starter.
Unfortunately, they only offered an inconvenience of a choice- sleep 2 nights in one room and another 2 nights in a completely different room. All of which is very inconvenient and most importantly didn’t offer the accommodations we originally booked. We booked a room that sleeps 3. The room they suggested only sleeps 2. So we had to put up with the clogged slow drain and awful smell. The linens we arrived upon were dirty, and there were no pillow covers, so we were told to sleep in another room for the first night so they could put fresh bedding on, and apologized. I must say that other room was very decent compared to our basement room. They did have coffee and tea in the common area for the guest which was nice. They also provided slippers for those cold floors and some fresh beverages in the room. They also had a cute little wrap around garden. All in all if we weren’t placed in the basement we might have enjoyed our stay much better.
