Stuart was cool and very helpful! He came down to change the thermostat batteries after I’d arrived. The residence was very clean and well stocked, just as lovely as the photos had shown (albeit the dead plants outside because we came right after winter). Loved visiting Lumberville General Store for breakfast, Peddler’s Village in Lahaska and Lambertville/New Hope (both only 18 minutes away!). Beautiful riverside view as well and walking distance via towpath to Bulls Island bridge. Bedrooms are super cute!

This River Retreat was exactly that — such a well appointed lovely haven. Even though it was still winter, the weather was warm enough to enjoy the lovely hammock swing on the deck. Stuart was incredibly responsive and very accessible regarding any possible question or need. Since the River Haven sits between Frenchtown on one side and Lambertville and new Hope on the other, fabulous food and lovely boutiques, and everything else. These small towns offer are a short drive in either direction.We very much enjoyed our too-short stay and look forward to returning in the hopefully near future.

Even in the heart of frozen winter the River Retreat proved to be a welcome respite from the world--that includes everything from the private view of the Delaware River, to the nightly sounds of owls. Can't imagine how nice it would be the other seasons!

The apartment is clean and well equipped for whatever your your adventures might lead to...and there is plenty to do in the immediate area. That said, it was tough to tear ourselves away from the beautiful view on the deck! Stuart is a phenomenal host.

We were looking for a peaceful retreat along the river we have loved for many years. River Retreat provided that for us. We biked 40 miles along the towpath. Fished near Bulls Island. Ate at wonderful restaurants nearby. Sipping coffee in the morning listening to birds, crickets and watching the gentle river. Thank you Stu.

I rented this place according to pictures and reviews. This house apartment was filthy. I had to clean refrigerator before i put my food in. Kitchen appliances filthy, dirty spots on kitchen walls with some thing stuck on it. Black mold in 1 bedroom and bathroom. Dust on everything. A small used peice of soap for us to reuse in the shower. Icing on the cake was when my son found a mouse in his bed, and mouse droppings on the extra towels we were to use! I suffer with a serious immune deficiency from a stem cell transplant, and the conditions of this unit are dangerous for me to be around. The picture shown must be very old, because there is no clear view as shown, its covered in vines. I have stayed in many vrbo's, this was the worst. The add says to treat this as if it is your house, I do not live like this, its unacceptable.

My family stayed here for a wedding in newtown. What a lovely apartment! It was a rainy cooler june weekend so we didnt get to enjoy the outdoor space as much but parts of the patio/deck was covered which was great. The pingpong table and some porch areas needed a sweep but otherwise it was delightful, clean, cozy. We’d stay here again.

Communication was great! It was quiet location, end of lane. We stayed in heat of summer but I bet the fall and winter are beautiful. Place could use some updating. Window a/c’s were quite loud.

Misleading Listing

The beds and covers were dirty. Same for pillows and carpets. I have been renting from vrbo for ten years, it is the first time I have rented such a dirty house. I ask vrbo to help me pay all my payments back.

Lovely first family getaway!

We brought our 11 month old on her first family weekend trip, and this place was perfect. We love New Hope and know it well, and this was a nice distance from there to accommodate naps and doing some sightseeing. Super close access to the canal trails, and the most awesome porch. We spent most of our time out there when at the rental!

Two night stay to bike ride the canal trail

We found the perfect place to take our e bikes on the canal trail. The access to the trail was just a short bike ride down the driveway to the access point to the Canal Trail. The Apartment was fantastic, clean and comfortable and a fully stocked kitchen. We had our dinner on the extremely large porch enjoying the view of the river and wild life. We lucked out in seeing a Bald Eagle swoop down and catch a fish. The next day we went for a 4 hour ride on both sides of the canal trail, drove to the Lambertville Station Inn for dinner. Finished the evening with a drink on the porch watching the river. A great experience and wonderful time. We will be going back.

Clean and Comfy Cabin by the River

This location was great for our small crew of kayakers and eBikers. There were plenty of places to drop in kayaks along the river, and the eBike trail at the end of the driveway went for many, many miles.Stuart was very helpful and quickly answered all of our questions. The gardens were beautiful, and great to hang out by the fire when night time came.
