We had not originally planned on staying in Reykjavik but decided to rather than drive straight to Akyueri after our red-eye flight landed at 6:30am. After spending the morning at Sky Lagoon we headed into Reykjavik thinking we'd poke around town until check-in at 3pm. To our delight, Elsa sent a message letting us know the apartment was ready early. She'd already sent the guest information book over a week before our arrival so we were prepared. The aparment had everything one might need and more. Well decorated featuring art from the gallery downstairs but very cozy and welcoming. The location was perfect. After we unloaded our bags we walked through Old Town taking in the architecture, doing some shopping (grocery store and Icelandic Hand knit stores were 10 minutes walk). Lots of restaurants around. You won't need to move your car but that was reserved as well. Sorry we only had one night.

What an incredible place! Location can't be beat, apartment is super charming, everything was spotlessly clean, and the owner thought of everything (qtips and general toiletries in the bathroom, plush bathrobes, tea/coffee and staple kitchen items). The shower had great pressure and hot water and there was a towel heater. We loved that the ceramics, paintings, and photos in the apartment were all created by the owners (who have work in the NY MoMA). Clearly overall I was highly impressed and pleased with our stay at the snowbird. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Reykjavik!
