There is no front desk and only cleaning staff on the premises. Mark says you get the email with the codes prior to arrival. Great location in central Reykjavik. Lots of good restaurants. I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

I was a bit sceptical about staying in a hotel with no check-in desk or staff, just an access code sent by email, but this all worked very well and I was able to come and go with ease and leave my luggage in the store-room after checkout. I could see this arrangement presenting security poroblems in a country with more crime than Iceland, though. Those travellers wanting advice about attractions, transport etc. would miss that human touch but it suited me. The room was very well set out and had a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom and a table and chairs. Those who want to take the lower-cost option of buying food in a supermarket and preparing it in their room rather than eating out can easily do so. The novel lighting arrangement on the ceiling above the bed - a string of nine black wires with bulbs on the end - did look a bit like a big spider so I don't know if any arachnophobes would be put off. All in all this was a very good hotel and I would use it again.

We spent our first two nights in Iceland here. It was a good choice for arriving late from the airport and was still quite walkable. Although more convenient places certainly exist, we didnt mind the walk. After 8 it was difficult to find eating options but that was true in all of Iceland so isnt indicative of this neighborhood in specific. Check in was easy and well communicated. Hotel specific parking was a bit tricky to find in back but we easily found street parking.

Need explanation for the process checking in

The hotel is great. However the communication for payment and check in needs to be improved. I was hesitated to pay the hotel with a link without much explanation before arriving the hotel. No one is at the hotel to assist and it could be a bit frustrating. It could be better if an email explaining how the process is like to be sent to me prior to the stay.

The room was well designed and very clean, the bathroom in was gorgeous, and bakery located on the first floor was divine. There is not lobby or front desk, you enter with a code provided to you over email, however staff is easy reach with a phone call. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Reykjavik.

The would have been helpful if the instructions for using the access code in the elevator were more clear. Both the front door and rooms require the access code followed #. For the elevator it's just the access code with NO #.

Room was spacious, modern and clean. Checkin was easy. Our only issue was needing more towels and management quickly responded. I was concerned about not having staff on site for Checkin but it was not an issue.

One of my favorite places to stay! This place has everything you could need. Mini kitchen, oven, stove, pots, pans, silverware, sink and cleaning supplies, coffee and tea, dishes, glassware and more I’m probably forgetting. Not to mention a phenomenal shower and towel warmer! Great location, easily walkable and not far from shopping and dining areas. Also it is an 8min walk to where most of the tours pick you up and 15min to BSI where the airport shuttles drops you off.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The checking process was so seamless, the room was clean with great amenities. My only suggestion is that they should put paper towels in the rooms or kitchen napkins to wipe down the countertops or wipe hands.

Although it’s a franchise hotel, it felt special and classy. The bakery and coffee shop downstairs is great in the morning, and they offer a discount to guests (be sure to tell them, they don’t ask and don’t advertise it). Somethings are not explicitly clear, like the basement (floor zero in the elevator) is where the luggage store room is. If you need towels, you need to replace them yourself and they are kept someplace else on the hotel (we got ours by asking the cleaning service). Great kitchen, comfy bed, ideal location with parking. Shower is awesome as well and love the heated towel rack.
