The property is close to rehoboth beach, about a 10-15 minute drive. The area around the hotel has lots of dining options. However, it is not pedestrian friendly.

Overall it seemed nice at first glance. After the first day we started to notice things. Like rust on metal fixtures and doorways. The hallway carpet was very dirty and stained. Looks like it has never been cleaned. The bathroom door knob was coming off. The table in the room was extremely wobbly. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. The hallway fire extinguisher had exposed broken glass and there was no extinguisher. There was dirt, possibly mold on the shower wall that was easily wiped off. There was a large dark brown stain on the wall by the sink. The room key cards stopped working 3 times in our 2 night stay. The pool was nice but also dirty. For being pet friendly it was quiet even on the first floor.

Wasn't what I was expecting, kinda seemed like an econo lodge just without the homeless people. The first room we were put in the beds were wet, the bedding wasnt all the way dry, switched rooms, staff was very nice and friendly. The grill had a ton of mold all over it, still had hamburgers in it.

Mold problem

Unfortunately our room had a moldy/mildewy smell that was quite strong, and we both started having respiratory symptoms once we had been in the room for a couple of hours. We had booked the hotel for two nights but left after the first night because of the mold issue.

The location was not bad for the cost however the property needs updating. Our room had a horrible smell. We found mold on the bathroom door and ac unit. The toilet handle would get stuck at times. Condensation collected on the tank. Not good for our son’s respiratory system. The outside trash was always full. The front desk was friendly.

The room was not properly clean, it was not ready when we got there. The carpets overused and dirty. Had pets around. Many things broken inside. It was so bad I decided to leave one day early and lost a day reservation. Not coming back there ever.

Hotel Wave is a hidden gem. All these years I have visited Rehoboth Beach I didn’t realize this hotel was there. It’s perfect for being close to everything in the area without the overpriced tag. The hotel does need an update to their pool area. I would’ve liked to have meat in the breakfast buffet but overall I would stay here again.
