Malmaison came to our rescue after we had booked into the Reading Travelodge. One look inside and we knew we had made a mistake. We booked into Malmaison and checked in less than an hour later. We were very happy. Our room was spacious, modern and clean. We received a warm welcome and had a fantastic stay while we explored reading.

The room was on a corner on the first floor next to a bus stand. The noise from people shouting outside the property during the night & buses stopping & starting meant we did not have a good nights sleep. The lighting in the room was very poor and one of the bathroom shower taps did not work so the temperature could not be controlled. Have stayed previously in a different room which was great so this experience was very disappointing.

Parking n/a. Drink options good. I do not enjoy having a suite and not being able to crack a window open a little bit. I do not enjoy air conditioning. Also you should not have to pay for extra water. Extra water should be free of charge.

My family and I visiting Reading for a family wedding. We wanted a hotel that was near transportation and had an excellent rating. Malmaison did not disappoint. The staff friendly and fabulous. The rooms large, immaculate and comfortable. Can we talk about location…perfect if you want to jump on a train to visit anywhere in England (which we did). Don’t let the hustle and bustle of the train station scare you because once you walk thru the hotel doors, the outside stays outside! We plan to stay again and again and again!

Overall the property was somewhat tired in appearance. The “mood lighting” ( otherwise known as dim ) in the room covered a number of shortcomings. The staff however were friendly and efficient. Best area of the hotel was the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast.

I absolutely loved this hotel - I loved every thing about the hotel. My room was brilliant lovely , so clean , we had a bath and a shower . We had slippers and a dressing gown if needed.A mini fridge , a safe , bed was huge. The staff x the cleaners ( all who I came in contact with) with was really friendly, nothing was too much for them. I would 100 percent recommend the hotel. X
