If you like historical stays, this is your sign to stay here! Interesting history attached to this hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The valet services were fantastic. I cannot say enough about how great the valet staff’s customer service was! I was highly impressed. There is plenty of downtown shopping around within walking distance, same with restaurant options! The pub attached to the hotel has great late night food options. The room itself was small but clean and comfortable. Bathroom was updated and included all the comforts from home (shampoo, conditioner, etc.). I’d highly recommend staying here!

Had a great stay. Did not realize the haunted history of the Alex Johnson before booking. To my surprise, the place was on Ghost Hunters. I watched the episode while staying in the hotel. Hotel is all pet friendly, which is what I needed, and it was great! 2 bars/restaurants, including a rooftop lounge, both with dog friendly options. Parking is a challenge. They do have a valet, but since I had just got into town I wasn't sure if I would need my vehicle again, so I found parking on the street. Will definitely stay here again though!

The rooms were so small and the bathrooms were even smaller. Parking was ridiculous. Drinks at the roof top bar were very expensive. Didnt like the choise for any of the food. Will never stay at the Alex Johnson again.

Who knew….history in the city.

Such a beautiful historic hotel - clean and friendly. Check out the rooftop! On-street (pay) parking was a drag…but great walkability to stores and restaurants.

Very nice hotel and stay.

We enjoyed our stay Very nice hotel and employees were friendly. The only uncomfortable part of the stay was the bathroom. We think it should only be reserved for single guests. The bathroom is a bit of a challenge for 2 guests. Enjoyed the restaurant and the roof top. The bartenders were very nice.

Rundown and worn out.

I thought the property was run-down, upholstery dirty and there was a lot of dirt and dust (years of accumulation) behind the nightstand when I went to plug something into the outlet behind it. Carpeting looked decades old and worn, dirty.

Historical hotel for sure! Our bathroom was quite small, so if you are a larger person please be sure double check the size of your washroom before booking. The roof top bar is a must see! Delicious drinks and friendly and talented bar tenders!
