This hotel was so charming, just like it says in the name. It really felt more authentic Mexico than many of the big major hotels, and I’d prefer that any day. The staff was incredible- thoughtful, attentive, thorough and friendly. The rooms and common areas were clean and well kept. The buffet rotated each day, so we didn’t get tired of eating the same things, and my kids loved the burgers at the snack bar. For people who complain about the quality of the drinks- did you know you can order a double? You can also substitute whatever liquor you want. A little tip goes a long way in terms of getting great drinks and service, and it’s worth noting that the small amount of money means much more to those servers than to you. I really can’t say enough good things about the service. The location, while not beachfront, is one a few blocks away and is also so convenient to the cruise port where many excursions take out of. We did lots of walking in the neighborhood, even at night, and always felt safe and secure. The pool politics were a bit of a negative, in that some of the long time guests have a habit of waking up early and leaving towels to reserve all of the lounge chairs around the pool. We worked around this by pulling other chairs together poolside when we wanted a seated spot. Overall we had a fabulous experience, and will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay...staff was wonderful... check in and out went quickly and there was a variety of food with options for those of us that are less daring with traditional dishes. Fruits, salad, and breads were the best! Pool was very clean and the perfect temperature! I would definitely consider visiting here again!

Our group had 2 issues. 1st..WHY in the world would you close the bathrooms at the beach facility ?? Leaving the ocean as an option or call the shuttle to take you back to the hotel....waves in that area are very strong! 2nd..We were not the only smokers,in fact there were quite a few..all gathered at the street in front of the facility to smoke. There are areas at the back of the hotel that could easily be made into a decent area for the paying smoking quests. I realize Smoking is our choice, but it wouldn't kill them to provide a reasonable area, instead of along an extremely busy highway. We have been to this facility several times, but will be looking at another for our next trip.

We chose this place because of the price we got it for. We love the staff and the hospitality. The facility is very dated but we do admire the Mexican feel to it. They have no beach front but they have shuttle options which was great. Plus, the beach is just a 3 - 5 minute walk which was ok. If we could get another deal for the price, then we would definitely come back.

If you want a jumbo resort you never leave that has everything there this isnt it. It's so much better. Why have 4 mediocre buffets pumping out food when you can have one that switches everyday and the food is clearly made with love. They make every day feel special you never know what to expect whether it's a live performance or a poolside bbq. Romantic xylophone performance. A rock cover band a demonstration of traditional Mexican dances. It's always entertaining. The location is perfect 70peso cab ride to malecon. Directly beside Puerto magico the cruise ship port for whale watching or any tours. Right beside a Mexican Walmartish place called chadrau that you can get anything you need. This hotel I will admit maybe won't knock your socks off with first impression but you will love it more and more everyday you stay they punch away above their weight. Beach access is close and has drink. This is an authentic Mexican experience not a resort catered to rich Americans who won't go out of there comfort zone. Food is soo good and traditional with a different theme every day. I honestly can't say enough if you are not adventurous you can still have a very relaxing time by the warm pool. It's kept very clean. The Mexican charm isn't just a thing they say it's true I would absolutely go back

Staff was wonderful. The property is small but nice. Good pool. Clean room. The food wasn't that great. Breakfast was thier best. For the price can't really complain.

They need to do a lot better gave it such a low rating because the food was so bad. I paid $400 usd for one night and the food they served was a joke they had no protein options other beef teriyaki, they had a plate of onions and jalapeños it said shrimp in the description never saw any shrimp in the whole buffet. Just pay a little more and stay somewhere else or you willl be extremely disappointed ☹️
