great for families - close to playground and supermarkets with the convenience of a restaurant. unfortunately the room was not desirable. The bed linen and towels were clean and well presented however the room was smelly (smelt like urine in the corner of the room near the window). The cups were dirty and the fridge did not work properly. Coffee making facilities a bit on the tricky side and the noise from the aircon kept us awake most of the night. However lovely staff and service

The bathroom was tiny . The view was great and even though it was above a pub it was very easy to get a good sleep

The carpets were dirty, the shower was dirty, many surfaces were either unclean or dusty. Items in the fridge were not replaced after usage. Window did not have adequate blind and there was a very bright street light straight outside window. No table or anything suitable to place suitcase on. TV in room was smaller than an average computer screen. Lights and switches were not near beds. Mattresses were stiff and uneven. There was one cereal bowl for two people and was not replaced after the first night. The old style shower curtain was discoloured at the bottom and did not prevent the majority of the floor of the very small ensuite from getting very wet. The overall feel of the room was tired, dirty and uncared for. There was a fire alarm and evacuation one night and the door to the only reasonable evacuation route had closed and there was no signage on the door to indicate it was the exit, causing guests to wander into the wrong hallway placing them at risk had the fire been real and not a false alarm. There was no explanation to the guests as to what had caused the alarm to go off and require them all to have to wait outside the building. There was also no direction as to where guests were expected to assemble during the evacuation and this could easily have caused guests to get in the way of firefighters trying to enter the building. And it’s not a good look having the manager trying to prevent the firefighters from entering the building so as to avoid a call-out fee.
