No compromise for our early departure due to Covid19

We had to return home to Canada 3 weeks early due to border closures and no flights back home. We were hoping for a partial refund or credit, but the property owner said that they would not be offering any compensation. The house was nice, in spite of the rat traps that were set outside by an exterminator (apparently attracted by fruit on the 3 citrus trees on the property) and the barking dog next door who barked at passing dogs being walked in the park that the house backs on to. Still waiting for the service charge that VRBO has claimed they would refund. Very disappointed in VRBO, the management company Latitude 8 and the homeowner.
