This hotel advertises as a luxury hotel with a spa. The hotel reception was uninviting and nothing like a luxury hotel. The first receptionist was polite but took some time to find our key and book us in. She didn't know a lot about the hotel. No concierge service or help with luggage. Weekend reception staff not friendly. We booked a suite and were booked into the Cariad Suite. When we walked in there was a stale damp smell, not a clean fresh smell that you would expect for a room at almost £300 per night. The room had a nice layout but that was it. It was cleanish but the couch in the sitting area looked as though several people had been sitting on it. The juliette balcony was filthy, the bed linen was clean but the cushions and throw smelt dirty. The floor was clean. The toilet was ok but smelt a bit. The big glass mirror was broken on three edges. Bath was nice. His and Her sinks were nice but nowhere to put toiletries. Back in the main room and bed area it was tired with cracks and marks in decor. The restaurant had lovely staff particularly the young waitress who greeted us but the food was not pleasant, it wasn't cheap so we assumed it would be good quality but it wasn't. We went for lunch and had booked dinner but cancelled dinner because lunch was so awful. Also a lot of the chairs were tired looking and sunk down when you sat on them. Not a spa hotel either just access to one up the road!

Hotel and staff is lovely. Spa is amazing! Only thing it’s getting a bit dated now. Rooms need a lick of paint and new tiles in the bathrooms. Other than that just lovely. Thank you! Just one thing would also make the outside area better - heated outside patio. Would be nice to sit out around such a lovely place

The welcome from the team was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Started in a beautiful canal view room without balcony. As the weather was so pleasant and the canal river boats passing we asked very quickly if there was any chance we could move to a juliet balacony or ideally a terrace with table and chairs. We dropped lucky and would highly recomend these rooms. The Spa was excellent and the 30 mins massage chairs were amazing and different 😀 Overall very worthwhile stay and a lovely place to explore.

I have stayed here previosuly and really like the hotel. The stafg are friendly and the wellness centre is great. We really liked that we had a ground floor room this time and double doors. The issue was that the headboard seemed to be stained from previous occupants heads. The bed was poorly made with the flat sheet being loose. In addition, the bathroom was unfinished with black mold along the bottom of the shower and the carpet in the corner of the bedroom was ripped. For such a nice hotel the room was disappointing this time.

Stayed in hotel for one night. Was welcomed with a birthday gift which was lovely. The areas around the hotel/spa were all well kept and gave off a wholesome country vibe. Food was delicious (abit pricey but worth it). The spa itself was nice, clean and relaxing.

Lovely place at a good price. We had a two night stay at this hotel while visiting Llangollen, rooms are nice and clean with wonderful views. Both lady’s on reception were so nice and helpful. We had a lovely chat with Ellie and both are a credit to the hotel. Buffet breakfast was very tasty with a great selection. We had dinner on both nights and the crispy chilli beef was very good. Also plenty of parking and an excellent spa and pool. One we will definitely return to 😊

We stayed for 2 nights and had a spa experience. The spa was amazing and well worth the money. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We would have liked a sofa area to chill and relax, in the main hotel part. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice.

The hotel is located outside town and close to the A5 road. It very quiet and has plenty of parking. The restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices. Some customers had a free bottle of wine while none was offered to us. Not clear how that works.
