We could hear people next door come in late that night the banging of luggage. also heard their conversation through the vent system that went on for at least 1 1/2 hours. Complained to the front desk i didn't hear any improvement. I forgot to put the dnd on the door and was interrupted twice. the first time the maid should have put the dnd on the door which they did not do. It was all a series of bad things you don't want to have happen when you had a long plane ride into the city. I stayed at this hotel before and don't remember having these issues. I had booked my stay for 2 nights but stayed only one night. the elevators are very slow. It was just not the place it used to be. I complained to the front desk and explained why i was leaving early but they didn't offer any compensation for my frustrating experience.

Reliable Option near Metro

The hotel is located well for using the Metro systems for travel. It has old world details but is modernized-the elevators stand out as an exception. The breakfast is wonderful with many options. There are common areas where families can relax after a long day to enjoy board games. The concierge was excellent at helping with transportation and other arrangements. Ask him to reserve transport to the airport in advance. Be aware that many large tour groups stay at this hotel. Be prepared to guard your breakfast room seat and grab a cab looking around a row of large tour buses.

I specifically booked a junior suite as I had a number of business meetings to do by video conference and needed the extra room. During business hours there was constant jackhammering and pounding apparently because of renovations. It was unacceptable. If I had been told of this when I booked by room I would have found another place to stay. When I called the front desk to see what was going on they told me there were ongoing renovations in the adjacent building and that there was nothing that could be done. Poor customer service to say the least.
