We had a very nice stay at Modern Est. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the reception staff was very nice and helpful, and the breakfasts were great! Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcome and for the great restaurant recommendations.

This hotel is across the street from train station Gare de L’Est and has a metro stop outside its door with 3 useful lines, many inexpensive eateries nearby & in train station. Room was very clean, bed & pillows very comfortable. I paid extra for breakfast, even with limited selection it was very enjoyable & filling - I ate slice of ham, swiss cheese, yogurt, orange juice, mini chocolate & plain crossants, hard boiled eggs, coffee machine; there was also fruit cocktail, soft cheese, and 2 cereals with milk to choose from. Only negatives were tiny shower in single room option, and no english-speaking channels on TV. Took train from CDG airport to Gare du Nord, easy 5 minute walk to Gare de L’Est & my hotel if you take Ave Magenta exit door when you leave Gare du Nord. Overall I would tend to choose this hotel again for my next visit to Paris!

Clean and good staff. The location is very convenient. The property is a little bit old. The door of the bathroom cannot lock and toilet lid is broken. But totally no problem and good stay.

Two-night stay

Very nice hotel, typical of what one would expect in Paris. Service was friendly at every interaction. The room has no air conditioning which meant opening the windows and tolerating the busy and noisy street action including police sirens. Location is great just across the street from Gare de l'est but that comes with the noise. Breakfast is good but not great. All told, I would stay there again.

Our stay here was great. The room was clean and we had fresh towels every day. There is no air conditioning but we stayed here in October so it wasn't too hot and there was a fan in the room. The area around the hotel pretty noisy and busy even late at night but with the windows closed and fan on the sounds didn't bother us. Really convenient location to transportation - metro right outside and Gare du Nord just a few minutes walk away if you're taking the Eurostar. Staff was really friendly and held our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

Perfect stay in Paris at main train station

This is a very cute hotel a short walk from the Gare de Est main train station in Paris. Lots of great places to eat right there and easy to hop on Metro to get around to all the great spots in Paris. Our room was clean the beds comfortable the bathroom was immaculate. I will stay again on my next trip to Paris.

Great location& friendly

I enjoyed staying in the hotel. The location is great next to metro train gare de lest. The room was tiny for 3 girls but clean and warmly looking good, also the toilet. The stuff we’re helpful and nice and did all we ask them. I am recommended this hotel for the price and our amazing staying.

Nice affordable stay. Not luxurious hotel but comfortable and clean. Very near two train stations (Gare du Nord and Gare d'lest). Subway station right outside hotel. Many food options outside. The area has some random people wandering around, but I still felt safe. Recommend to anyone looking for an affordable stay.

Pretty good.

The shower in the bathroom was out of date and only had a hand shower. The Kleenex box was empty. There was no thermostat for the heater. Otherwise very good and well located. We usually stay at this hotel.

Nice location next to Gare de l'Est Station.The recepten guy who checked me in was nice. The room itself is very basic but sufficient.The shower was very small and raised about one step which means if you take a shower, the water will definitely flow to the floor.Other guy at the reception told me there was a leakage because of that and I need to be careful when taking a shower not to do it again. He spoke to me in respectable but rather unfriendly way. Luckily it was only one night. So, I didn't have a shower again to avoid any trouble.

Convenient Location but Way Overpriced

I guess you're paying for the convenience of being right next to the station because that's all the good you get. The floors are uneven and squeaky and there's a motion sensor light in the room that comes on any time anyone moves so everyone in the room gets woken up any time someone moves in the night. Glad we only stayed there one night.

Good Stay with 1 min walk to Metro station. Many Restaurants near by. For Eiffel tower we need to change 2 metro trains. Most popular places are 1 or 2 metro changes away.
