I had a ‘cozy’ single and this is indeed cozy. It was ideal for a couple of nights when all I needed was a bed. The room was clean and modern and I lucked out with a top floor room with balcony and view over Gare de L’Est. The only thing that affected the score was the air conditioning. It gave up and the room was stifling on a hot day. The large windows opened to let in air but also let in the substantial 24 hour noise. The staff were unable to solve the problem but they were so nice it was hard to get angry. The location is ideal if you are travelling by train but this is not the prettiest part of Paris. Metro station entrance is 50m away from the hotel Recommended? Yes if you want a basic, clean small room in the perfect place for transport

Value for money

Convenient hotel with well appointed rooms for a very reasonable rate. The downsides are that the bathrooms are small and that there is a regular rumble from trains on lower floors during running times.

Noise issues

Stayed here because I needed easy, early morning proximity to Gare du Nord. It's a quick walk to there, and in fact even closer to Gare de l'Est. The location was good, the neighborhood was fine. I always felt safe. The hotel was clean. I live in NYC. I thought I was immune to street noise. HOWEVER. My hotel was on the first floor (in the US that = 2nd floor). I looked directly onto the street, and as it turns out onto a bus stop. At all hours of the night, people walking by and waiting at the bus stop might as well have been standing in my room. It was that loud with the windows closed. If that isn't bad enough, on the lower level of the hotel the metro running directly under the hotel can be heard (at felt) at 5-minute intervals between 5 am and 1 am. Noise cancelling headphones help, but sleep will be difficult until 1 am. Otherwise... Room is comfortable. Has a safe, shampoo, soap, and hair dryer. Would not stay here again.

Proximity to Gare de l'Est was very convenient for access to different parts of Paris. Rue St. Denis had a lot of great restaurants and was a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

Vacinity to major transport hub made it easy to get in and out of places around the city. Room was exactly what I needed for a four night stay. A little small but totally workable. Bathroom was clean.

Paris Metro station right nearby (maybe two minutes walk) and of course Gare de L'est and Gare du Nord both being right there means it's very easy to get anywhere else from here. Nice looking building both outside and in, with beautiful surroundings. Several good options right outside for food and cafés, all delicious as one would expect from Paris. Room wasn't big, but sufficiently sized and well layed out - easy access to the bed, and a nice shower. Ours had a towel warming rack for the shower too, which was a nice little bonus.

The hotel was very good and clean and comfortable. Breakfast options were limited - hardly any fruit. But overall the experience was good and extremely convenient as a base for exploring Paris. The area is a big transport hub so not the prettiest but good for getting around
