A Great Find

They do it right at Hotel Ursa. From service to Artwork, it was a great experience. My only critique is to remove the loose runner carpets in the hall. Someone could trip and wheelchair gets stuck. And find a better place to store the luggage carts. Wheelchair can't get around them when using elevator.

This seems to be located on the University of Maine campus. I stayed during summer break so no students. Very clean, new looking facility. Excellent service. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Not a good experience.

We were assigned a room on the 4.5 floor—the elevator went the 4th floor and we had to carry our bags up a stairway half a floor—even though we are in our 80s. Our room had one window, too high to see out and covered by a heavy drape. The furniture was of the indestructible college dorm type. We checked out at about 10:30 am. the next morning, and as we were getting our bags to the door 5 minutes later, a staff member came to the door and said, “we have had you checked out of this room since 8:am.” She obviously wanted to clean. Our room was in one of three buildings that made up the hotel on a university campus, and we appeared to be the only guests in that building.

Unusual but cool concept having a hotel in the middle of a college campus. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There were a few disappointments however. The cafe is only open 7-10am and the espresso machine wasn’t working. Id like to see the cafe be open for longer and offer more food options! Also, rooms are nice and beds comfortable but the decor was a bit lacking. Rooms could benefit from some additional artwork. How about some historic photos, or depictions of the Ursa Major & Minor constellations to tie together the theme of the hotel and its setting on a college campus? Bottled water in the room would be nice as well as some wider choices for tv entertainment instead of just a few boring cable channels with mostly ads. The study room next to the cafe is a wonderful space, with great decor, cool furniture and great books. Maybe incorporate some of these elements in to the rooms? Overall we were comfortable for our one-night stay but I couldn’t help thinking about all sorts of improvements that could be made.

The hotel is right on the University of Maine campus and made our visit super convenient. The rooms are large, clean, and modern. Our room looked brand new. There is a cafe on sight with great coffee and yummy quick breakfast options. It was a 7 minute walk across a gorgeous green field to the Admissions Office. They hotel staff let me park there while we were taking the campus tour. I would absolutely stay there again.
