Terrible Experience – Dishonest and Unprofessional Property ManagementI would strongly advise against booking with CastAway Properties. During our stay, we discovered bugs in the bed, which was both disgusting and deeply concerning. I immediately reached out to the property owner, and we had multiple phone calls and text exchanges regarding the issue.Initially, the owner expressed concern and remorse, acknowledged the issue, assuring us that a pest control company would be contacted to inspect the condo. He clearly stated—via text messages on August 9th and 10th, 2025—that we would receive a refund regardless of the outcome of the pest control inspection. However, on August 11th, the owner abruptly reversed his position, stating that no refund would be provided, and that any further communication would have to go through the VRBO message board.This was incredibly disappointing and felt like a clear bait-and-switch. We were essentially promised compensation and then had that promise completely withdrawn.We have never encountered such dishonest and unprofessional behavior from a property management company. CastAway Properties showed a complete lack of integrity and accountability. What should have been a relaxing stay turned into a stressful and frustrating experience.VRBO has been made aware of the issue, and a case has been opened and escalated to their Health and Safety Department for further review.
