An interesting mix of retro western with Japanese style onsen and gardens, this hotel offers rooms with huge, king size beds. We opted for the kaiseki dinner, and they were able to accommodate even though we didnโ€™t reserve it at the time of our booking. The meal was excellent with a range of courses. We drove here, but it looks to be a 20 minute walk from the charming parts of Yufuin

Not coming back to this hotel again.

Location: The hotel is located about 1.6KM (approximately 25 mins walk) from Yufuin Station and food source. Connectivity: WiFi is not available in the room, only in the lobby. Customer Service: Requested for a dinner reservation on the third night of our stay, but got rejected. Requested for two additional pillows, but got rejected again. Service staff at the front desk, uncle with spec, is always grouchy and unfriendly. Room: Huge, but old. There are holes in the blanket. Onsen: Probably the only nice thing in the hotel.

Nice hotel with onsen

I really enjoyed my brief stay here. Only stayed one night. The star of the facility is the onsen. The outdoor pools were lovely and it was not crowded in summer. Mostly had to myself. I must say I looked dashing in the yukata lent by the hotel. Room was nice without being fancy. Good size and furnishings. Did not eat at the hotel but instead ate in town at one of the yakitori places. About a 20 minute walk to the train station (slight uphill from train to hotel) and a 700 yen taxi ride.
