Very historic family style ryokan. The overall hotel and most rooms are quite old but it was cheap with decent breakfast (though my child didn't eat much of her food for breakfast which was a bit cold and charged extra - she generally enjoys food). We had a room that didn't include cleaning and it was larger than expected but in the end we wished we booked something a bit nicer / better / newer as we stayed multiple nights (one night would've been totally fine).
Very convenient location to the train station and the Takegawara Onsen. The breakfast is served by the sweetest, jolliest waitress. It is a very traditional Japanese breakfast and worth the experience.
The rooms are simple with beds on the tatami mat which I found very comfortable. Private bathroom included.
The private family onsen is clean. The only complaint I would have is the sulfur smell coming from the plumbing but as long as the bathroom door is kept shut it was tolerable.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It's a traditional ryokan, facilities look old but otherwise clean. I reserved a parking lot when I booked the ryokan. Check in and out are efficient. The counter staff are very friendly and helpful. My only issue with this place is that water takes too long to warm up. Needed to keep water running for up to 5 mins. Felt so guilty with wasting water but had no choice because the water was really too cold.
