For starters the reception is closed. All dealings are over the phone. Very hard to understand. Had to have them txt me the details. Every door has been repaired and looks like they have been kicked in at some stage. Room was clean however someone else’s jumper was left on one of the beds and they provided 1 towel for a booking of 4 people. I took my own towels and own bedding due to other reviews so it wasn’t a surprise. At night was when the fun started. Rooms either side of me had people arguing, swearing and what sounded like throwing thins around. This went well past midnight. Thankfully we were exhausted and fell asleep. In the morning the smoke alarm went off for no reason. Again no one at reception, rang the number no answer. Eventually it stopped after about 10mins. Got a call back and they didn’t seemed to concerned it was going off. Was not expecting much and only Booked it as it was the only place near Shepparton that was available that weekend. My son summed up the expertise when he said “how can their be so many different kinds of noises all happening at once”

First room we were given had an overwelming smell of smoke (Non-Smoking Room). We informed staff member who told us that all of the rooms smell like that. No air freshener was available, however I don't think it would have helped anyway. We were offered an alternative room after speaking to the manager. The front sliding door didn't lock properly. When the door was closed there was a gap at the side where cold air came in. No remote for the split system and a switch on the wall didn't seem to work, so no working heater. Exhaust fan in bathroom full of dust, towel rail broken off wall, basin had marks, possibly mould. There were four people staying in the room and we were only supplied 2 x cups, one small plate, one large plate, 2 x tea spoon. Only one tea bag, nothing else, no coffee, sugar. Fridge looked like something had been spilt in the bottom and not cleaned. Hand towel hanging in bathroom looked like it had been used several times. Outside of jug was dirty, not sure about the inside of it. 2 x bunk beds in the room. Both had bottom mattress, both missing top mattress. Person at reception was rude. We had tried calling the property 20 times between 8.30am - 2pm to confirm our booking and check in time. No one answered the phone and no one called us back when we left a message. When we told the staff member we had been trying to call and no one answer they ignored us. The outside of the property was untidy. We couldn't stay, we handed back the keys and left.

Worse accomodation I have ever been to, stunk, bed was no mattress, no towels for shower, no toilet paper, not enough crockery for 2 people, would not recommend and in fact we left before night had hit. Rude reception, We were not the only family that left before the night hit

The El Toro is an absolute dump. I highly recommend that this site be removed from all accommodation sites. Even the local Police said not to stay at the El Toro.

Poor service and rude, office closed after we checked in and they don't answer the phone. No towels in the room, room wasn't serviced. The place smells bad, worst of all is the number of cockroaches in the bathroom, shower, vanity when you turn the lights on. Personally, i think the other rooms are rented out to tenants who live there fulltime, and they're not really interested in running it as a motel. I would not stay there again.
