This peaceful, fully self-contained holiday house on Kangaroo Island is made for slowing down. There is space to explore, wildlife to watch, a beautiful stretch of Nepean Bay to discover, and a large deck where you can simply sit back and enjoy it all.
Clearwater Haven provides 107 acres of private Kangaroo Island wilderness to explore at your own pace, then follow the bush track 200 metres to 7km of quiet coastline to wander at your own pace. Kangaroos and wallabies often graze nearby, while echidnas and native birds may make an appearance. At the end of the day, return from exploring the island to your own private piece of countryside, fire up the BBQ and watch the sunset from the deck.
**The house**
Built in 2011, Clearwater Haven is a light-filled, open-plan home comfortably sleeping up to 6 adults and 2 infants across three bedrooms, including 2 queen beds, 2 single beds and 2 cots.
The layout works particularly well for a family, two small families, couples or a group of friends.
Luxury Sheridan linen, bath towels and beach towels are provided. All bedrooms have blackout blinds and curtains for peaceful country sleeps. Cot linen is available on request.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a full oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, crockery and cooking essentials. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk are provided.
For longer stays, you'll also have a washing machine, laundry and dishwashing detergents, hand and body soap and other everyday essentials.
The split bathroom has a shower, full-sized bath, toilet and vanity in separate spaces, which is particularly practical for families and groups.
**Your beach is just 200 metres away**
Follow the track through native vegetation and, just 200 metres from the front door, you'll reach a beautiful sandy beach on Nepean Bay.
It's a wonderful place for swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating, beachcombing and long walks along the sand.
The calm waters are suitable for swimming year-round. At low tide, warm shallow pools form along parts of the beach and can be especially enjoyable for younger children.
Bring a fishing rod and try your luck from the beach, or bring a small boat. A Council-maintained boat launch is approximately 1km from the property.

Clearwater Haven is a special place for wildlife lovers, photographers and anyone who enjoys being outdoors.
The 107-acre property includes around 30 acres of native bushland, mature gum trees, native grass trees and open countryside.
Kangaroos and wallabies are frequent visitors, particularly around the open areas and tree line. Echidnas and abundant native birdlife can also be seen.
Early morning and late afternoon are particularly beautiful times to explore, when wildlife is often active and the changing light brings the landscape to life.
**Slow down on the deck**
Not every day needs an itinerary.
The large entertainment deck is a natural gathering place for long lunches, morning coffee and sunset drinks. Fire up the barbecue for dinner or cook the day's catch while enjoying the surrounding bush and wildlife.
After sunset, connect your favourite tunes to the Bluetooth stereo or cast your own movies to the smart TV.
Inside, you'll also find books, board games and movies, as well as a comfortable writing desk with a fully adjustable chair.
For a true Island experience, pick up a bottle from one of Kangaroo Island's local wineries and settle in for the evening.
**Explore Kangaroo Island — or don't**
Clearwater Haven makes a peaceful base for exploring Kangaroo Island's natural attractions, including the Remarkable Rocks and Seal Bay.

**Off-grid and eco-friendly**
Clearwater Haven is an eco-friendly, off-grid home powered by ample solar power with rainwater supply. It's cosy and comfortable in cooler weather, with heating and faux fur blankets.
Mobile network coverage is available in and around the house, although Vodafone coverage on Kangaroo Island is limited.
Access to the property includes an unsealed road, but a standard car is suitable for island travel.
**Guest access**
Guests have run of the house, access to the full 107 acres of the property and easy, on-property access to the beautiful beach only 200 meters from the doorstep which is suitable for swimming all year. There is plenty of parking with space for a boat/trailer.
